I figured it was time to get one going now that they are dropping. I scored the Tidioute African Rosewood today and just received my shipping notification. ETA is Saturday 7/31/2021. I’ll post pics and my first impressions then. Let’s get the ball rolling ‼️🎳
 
Going to sit this out as I don't typically carry a two blade trapper or anything similar, but I'm interested in seeing everyone's picks.

The African Rosewood 73 does not disappoint. Carried it with me today.
 
579289B4-81D0-4822-83A2-FE125DD8D8F5.jpegFresh out of the mail box. African Rosewood is beautiful. Fit and finish is spot on, no gaps on the springs, tight fit around the shield. Moderate pull around a 5 on both blades. Flush open and closed, just slightly proud at the half stop. I’m not sure anyone produces a traditional knife in this price range better than GEC.

I had no idea these were dropping already. I may have missed the boat on the rosewoods. Hopefully I get lucky with email notifications from other dealers.
 
I might be going crazy, but I swear I saw a post or something a few days ago stating that the Northfield Remington Trappers were an SFO sold exclusively through Blue Ridge Knives. Did anyone else see anything similar? I cannot seem to find the original source of that info...Am I hallucinating?

This information was on the gec website. On the home page, there was an image of the Remington - below the image was the info about blue ridge. That Remington image, and info, has been replaced by the trapper image. Whether you are having hallucinations or not depends on how much fun you are having today : )

Not having a lot of fun today, so it's good to know I'm not hallucinating about that.
 
Got lucky with a drop today and scored one of the African Rosewoods even though the price was a little inflated. I was doubting that I'd be lucky with future drops due to the smaller size of this run.
 
Great looking pieces, I'm not much of a fan of two bladed knives so I'll be sitting this one out. A blade delete on the bocote would be perfect though....must resist......
