How did we go from like 300 standup members purchasing a BF knife last year and perhaps the same the year before, and now we got 500 being made? None of these new guys joining are only here to buy one to flip, absolutely not. Sorry, end rant.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned on Blade Forums it’s that there’s a small army of folks salivating at the chance to catch someone in the act of breaking the rules.

besides, it’s a sawcut, GEC barlow with a clip point… I feel like that would draw more people out of the wood work just by virtue of the popularity of the combination. Also, with the stainless version also bring produced, I’m guessing flippers will have their hands full.

That's the last time I put my name down flippantly or ask inane questions.....

Sorry, Jon!! Couldn't resist!! 😲
I'll let it go this time.....only because resistance is futile...
In future however I need to see a lot more emphasis on the opening "Aaaaaaaaaah"...give it plenty of squinty eyed gentle head nodding sagacity...and dont be afraid to use props..eg your walking staff to grip knowingly or a ladel to water your seedlings from a large barrel painfully slowly...Do you have your bed of sharp pebbles to walk across in bare feet feeling no pain because your mind is clear and at one with nature and the universe? Perhaps a small bird or butterfly to alight on your open hand?
Any of these will assist.
👍

I think last years #s were a little subdued because it was a little too modern, Italian and a lot of folks had strong feelings about the horn covers. Don’t get me wrong, I love mine. I do think this years numbers are driven in part because it’s a GEC Barlow but maybe some of them stick around and participate in the forums…

Yeah I think your exactly right. Everyone saw how awesome the ‘19 knife was so it’s all hands on deck this year. I’m still undecided , I’m going to have to see them finished up. And the 86 Angus might keep me from getting one at all, because I think it’s about as perfect as you can get..

It's right between 499 and 501 but that's not important right now.
Airplane! references, to boot! You're a fine specimen, sir.
Couple pages back… but this thread is reserved for gibberish and not for discussion of details! Trust the process!
I disagree- every thread should contain gibberish, and I'll see to it that they do, but this thread's purpose is to inform the uninformed.

I somehow missed Charlie's post where he says GEC will make "up to" 500 knives.
Assuming Charlie's careful about his language, that means <= 500.

I missed the preorder... is that the ordering thread? (Gonna be posting this in every traditionnal thread of BF!) 🤣

Still disapointed i missed the thread, this will be an awesome GEC for sure! 😍

I am not being entirely facetious here. With the popularity of GEC products there really could be a rush where demand outstrips supply.
Honestly, I don’t think we’re going to have an issue ordering our BF 86 21’ knives. All the folks who are scrambling on Facebook that they want one and don’t know how to get one probably don’t even meet the qualifications anyway. Of course this is speculation on my part.
Time will tell! I really want two but I’d be happy with one
