Mine came today and I believe they deserve a separate thread. Like others I’ve wanted an White Owl for a long time. Imho this one does not disappoint. Fit and finish is typical GEC quality and the Cowhide Jigged Bone is beautiful. Both blades are nice and snappy and centered. Pull is a little stronger than the blades on my Pony Jack. I noticed on pics on a different thread there is a little blade rub at the tip of the clip on one side. Mine does as well. No big deal to me. 😃

Excuse my ignorance, is this pattern close to a Churchill pattern? #35? Has the White Owl been a unique pattern or marking for some time?

Howard the Owl was a popular line of children's books of yesteryear.

Loving the new White Owl, those covers are great! When this pattern was first released by GEC I was able to snag a couple of real beauties. When my new one gets here maybe I’ll post some pics of the whole family. 👍
I sure hope so‼️

Mine is a 2011. Who is Howard?
Bill howard is the president of gec
Yes, but in this case Howard is a trademark originally owned by C B Barker in the late 1890s. Many Howard marked knives were made by the Canastota Knife Company, some were made in Germany. One of the logos used with the Howard name was an owl sitting on a limb.

Great pic‼️ I wish I could take ones that good. What ever you do don’t tell me you were able to do that with your cell phone camera. It will on confirm that I’m the Luddite I wished I wasn’t. 😜
Ha! Yep. Good ole iPhone. No need to change your ways tho. I always like trying to check out what kind of other gear you have stacked on your desk behind the knife your are photographing!

as for a bail "if they had fitted one" wouldn't it have been better on the pony jack as it wouldn't interfere with any blades then or is it wanted for the look???
