2022 Bcci 112 fixed blade Sunday at high noon est....

I really wanted one.....
So I went to help the neighbor with his new roof at noon. ( I'm trying to be responsible....🤔)

Then the other neighbor has been in a serious bike accident......., so I got involved in some ramp details so he could come home from re-hab.

I get home......
Dang, still for sale........

.....I bought the wife some earrings instead.
......Life changing injuries make you reevaluate things.😎

I look forward to some pics tho!

It's a good day.😊

I did a 112 custom shop calculation:

Upgraded distressed brown sheath (made in USA ?)

Does not come with the "BUCK USA" Anvil "50", tang stamp

Satin finish blade

Elk handle

Not limited

= $180 (Plus Tax).

To me, pulling the trigger on this 112 fixed blade was easy as a good deal:

Upgraded, USA made, better designed (opinions will vary) sheath.

"BUCK USA" Anvil "50", tang stamp

"BCCI" etched satin finish blade

More Elk as the handle does not have the rear bolster compared to the folding 112.

Limited Edition of 200

"New Model introduction by Buck Knives for Buck Collectors Club" - 112 Fixed Blade

All that for $45 more - purchase already made ! : )

so still available...not very popular it appears...least with bcci members.

Just my opinion, but I'd guess it has less to do with price and more to do with the audience (again, just my opinion, so could be completely wrong as I regularly am!) As Y Your Name Goes Here points out in his post above, I think the price point isn't crazy to those that are interested for a number of reasons.

The point Y Your Name Goes Here gives make sense to me and even if you want to compare it to more of a 113, those go in the custom shop with elk slabs and the brown leather pouch for $185. So still about the same price difference, I guess. Also, as jbmonkey jbmonkey points out, it is a fundraiser for the BCCI.

If all (well, most, since the 119 is still available) of the BOTM offerings sell out, I find it very hard to believe that these would not have sold out in hours if they were offered directly through Buck at the same price.

How many people simply: A) do not know about the BCCI B) don't want to spend the money to register or C) register simply for the Buck discount and never even check the website or the update emails.

Either way, I'm kind of happy for once that it wasn't a fire sale on something and people can take time to think it through and decide whether it is something they really want or not. To me, that is really a win!

don't play on the fb site.......what's that about?
I dont either....
The powers that be at the Club have all but abandoned the Club site in lieu of FB. You don't have to be a paying Club member to join the BCCI FB group yet access (by proxy) to the all of the curated information that paying Club members have.
The issues I have are:
1) FB's politics and sensorship.
2) FB's privacy policy and information farming and sharing.
The BCCI admin has chosen to use a vehicle who's political views are not in line with my own, and risk my privacy merely for the sake of convenience.

At least here the politics are more in line with the hobby... Actually... politics don't seem to be present here at all.

So, are the members of the FB group also able to purchase this knife ? On FB or the BCCI site (not being a paying member) ?

Just a few thoughts........

Well said MT_Pokt MT_Pokt I agree with your opinions of FB.

I once asked an old timer (born around 1910) the worst thing that happened in his lifetime. His answer was television, due to the negative effect on interactions between neighbors, friends and family. I am thinking FB/social media may be the worst thing in my lifetime.

I was pretty excited about the club knife until the price was announced. A bit odd since I do not exactly limit my knife spending. jbmonkey jbmonkey has me thinking I need to Buck up and support BCCI a bit more.

That is a nice(!) looking knife, and I need to stop looking at the BCCI page before I order one. The BCCI 301 is one of my favorite slippies.

Beings you can only order the knife thru the BCCI website.
Only paying members can purchase the knife.

I think it will sell out. Folks will get the knife, post more pictures and reviews, and those on the fence will cave.

As said, it's not only the price of the knife, it's the fact that everything else has gone up too.

Nope, you have to be a member to buy the knife. I guess if you made the effort, as a non member buyer, you could find a member to purchase it for you...

I was just glad they were still available when I went to purchase. I have no doubt that if it was a BOTM with only 200 available it would not have been available the 6 hours after release that I made my purchase.
