2022 Case Vault - Small Swell Center Jack

Nice! I had always liked this pattern as a mid-point between a Peanut and Small Texas Jack, but when I was in my accumulation stage they had been discontinued and the only ones you could find were the ones with the Coca-Cola logo shield (because it was a "small Coke bottle" pattern). I never found one at my price point at the time, though I did snag a couple of older ones with smooth bone handles, which I didn't want to "mess up" by carrying and using. I ended up with a Rough Rider version which made for a decent small carry knife in the same general pattern.

I am no longer a buyer of knives but if I were, I'd probably pick up one of these while they are around.

At the moment I am very disappointed and prepared to be extremely upset with Case.
They're releasing the knife I want, in the cover material I want, but the dropped the ball by using the wrong steel.

Maybe they will actually offer CV, but nothing they show has that tang stamp and they make no mention of anything but " a wide variety of handle material options ".
Even the yellow delrin that's typically in CV is in SS which is not a good sign at all.

They need to learn that offering handle options is worthless if they're not also going to offer both of their steel options.

I got the announcement email today from Case and it says nothing about it being exclusively offered in their stainless. If it's anything like past Vault releases, I reckon there will be a number of them offered in CV steel.

Last year's Vault release of the Copperhead saw the majority being offered in stainless but a few of them made it in CV - their classic yellow Delrin, a nice one in red bone (ordered one of these the other day), and another in their amber jigged. The Barlow from the year prior had one with sawcut bone - it was the nicest offering of the run, in my opinion.

All that to say - there is hope yet!

Bit small for me but a tidy knife and some very decent scale options. Have no strong feelings about cv versus stainless, they both cut the same but I often like to matte the polished stainless to give it an as ground look- less fingerprint hell or scratches.

Just wonder if CASE will stop this insane prohibition on dealers selling outside the USA? The one I used to buy from is most apologetic but won't ship due to this.

I'm sure there will be something in CV but their add doesn't instill a lot of confidence in me, I guess I'm just worried because they don't mention it and only picture SS.

I'd be most happy with amber jigged and CV but their dark red bone or antique smooth bone and CV would excite me too.

I’m hoping for several CV options too, and was happy to see some Copperheads with CV. I think there was only one pocket hunter offered in CV, a white bone, but I could be wrong about that.

I have the Copperhead in Amber from last year, so I doubt I'll double up on that, but if they offer something else interesting in CV I'll definitely give it strong consideration. I dropped a question in the SMKW YouTube release video about CV options, but I'm not sure if there's any chance I'll get a response.

Beyond that, I've been eying Caribbean Blue for a while, so I may be tempted to pick that one up at some point.

Have you thought of using a forwarding agent, that way you have a US address.

cudgee cudgee I have several people who've helped me out with that yes, but the nosedive in service our PO has taken in 2 years guarantees stress for those who send me stuff and I don't like to ask now. Packet arrived yesterday that left the USA on 30th Nov....it used to take less than a week on average. Be interesting to see how long it takes for your compatriot's parcel meako meako to get here, Easter 2049 I suspect :D

The Cheyenne bone one is calling to me

I’ve been wanting a coke bottle pattern, so this is really speaking to me. I’m hoping the cayenne looks good in person!
I don't see Cheyenne or cayenne bone on the link posted above. Where are you guys seeing this?

Yeah, I'm a sucker for blue, and then sawcut it...👍
