I’m pretty excited about these. In the shot show video they hinted at special releases, so that’s intriguing for sure. I really liked the special runs they did with the copperlocks.
If you look at the SMKW reveal video, Maury Ford briefly mentions it. It’s that gorgeous orange jigged bone.I don't see Cheyenne or cayenne bone on the link posted above. Where are you guys seeing this?
Yeah, I'm a sucker for blue, and then sawcut it...![]()
Orange jigged bone! So far I see 3 handle choices I want! I may set an “indoor record” this year with knife purchases. If you look at the SMKW reveal video, Maury Ford briefly mentions it. It’s that gorgeous orange jigged bone.
I’m not a knife designer, so I have no idea, but would this pattern work with a wharncliffe blade? They have a wharncliffe on some of the mini copperheads. Might be cool. All these patterns with double bellies are driving me nuts. Give me more patterns with a straight edge too so the same knife can do more jobs.
Yep. Something like a wharncliffe or coping blade is exactly what I'm thinking.I’m not a knife designer, so I have no idea, but would this pattern work with a wharncliffe blade? They have a wharncliffe on some of the mini copperheads. Might be cool.
I hear you on that, I personally only own Cases pilot test run trapper in 1095, and if that steel performs similarly to their CV, I can totally see myself picking up a knife from their dark red or grey jigged bone families that they do in CVI'll grab a dark red ASAP, and hopefully have a great dark natural patina rolling by the time the next CV 25-1/2 drops barring it's in a cover I'm interested in.
Man if they did their antique " rogers " jigged bone in CV I'd snatch one right up.
I really just wanna see the CV blades with some covers in a rich more natural tone like the antique smooth bone , something in that area really pairs well with a dark patina'd blade.
The honey , caramel, whiskey, and dark reddish browns are my favorite tones for jigged bone.
Don’t they offer both SS and CV in their yellow synthetic line?Why-Oh-Why wouldn't they use CV in their Yellow Delrin offerings???
If I'm not mistaken their CV is a 1095 with chrome vanadium added.I hear you on that, I personally only own Cases pilot test run trapper in 1095, and if that steel performs similarly to their CV, I can totally see myself picking up a knife from their dark red or grey jigged bone families that they do in CV
They do, but the yellow delrin has kind of always been synonymous with their CV.Don’t they offer both SS and CV in their yellow synthetic line?
The only one I see listed so far is in True Sharp.Don’t they offer both SS and CV in their yellow synthetic line?
I have a yellow delrin, cv, Barlow from that run, but I think it was an SFO through a dealer (non BF sponsoring so will remain nameless). As discussed above, there will probably be some SFO's out there that aren't standard issue.I don't believe the Barlow they offered in Yellow Delrin a couple of years ago was with CV either - so it isn't without precedent.
