Finally a pattern that I absolutely loathe. Wouldn't take one for free. Ok, I **would** take one for free, but just then sell or trade it for something I like. But if I had to keep it? I would say, "No."

I'd tend to agree. Single blade EO versions are my favorite when in comes to "Sun-Toe" patterns.

I can’t think of a traditional pattern that I absolutely loathe but the GEC #25 spear made for Bulldog brand with the matchstrike pull is a contender, near impossible to open with vice-grips.

I prefer the single blade versions too, except for the pull on those 2 are the hardest of all in the picture.

My guess is that we are getting only Tidioute of 36 because previously we've got only Northfield of 77.

A couple of years ago I thought the same about the Sunfish, but I have come around and now I have several and really like them. Conversely, I used to really like collecting GEC's, but because of the lack of availability, I've lost interest. So overall, my reaction to this knife is kind of 'meh'.

If Case came out with a Sunfish again, I'd be very interested. I don't think Boker has ever done a Sunfish, but I'd love to see that. Remington used to make them through Queen and if they branded some of these 36's like the Prospector last year (and made them in sufficient quantities) I'd be all over that.

For now, my next large knife purchase will probably be a Laguiole, because the 'French Friday' thread is corrupting me.

I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one. This one ranks below the one legged Kate style of knife for me...

I am glad that there are people that seem to really like this pattern, and I hope they all get one, or two. I just don't see it.... variety is, of course, the spice of life.

Man, is that even legal to make sunfish pattern knife with only one bolster?

It is very funny though that this year GEC makes patterns that I've been waiting for, but in such variations that do not appeal to me.
