2022 GEC Bayou Trapper #88 Thread

Gabon ebony would have been a million times better than black linen micarta….. but, this looks very similar to the 82, which is one of my favorite patterns. Probably cannot pass this one up. I already sent an email to a customizer about recovering an 88.

Someone please do an 88/82/81 comparison………

this would be a great knife to carry just to toss into the pot at a poker game……. All in!

No, actually I was told the acrylic's will be released first. That's why I'm surprised there are no pics up yet.

Got my 88 in yesterday it's a nice knife. I have a friend on YouTube. His channel name is wartthog he did his video Monday. I'm a newbie here and can't find out how to post a picture smh , I'm getting old.

The postal gods smiled upon me and this beauty came today! As always the fit and finish is excellent with nice walk and talk. Pulls seem to be in the 5-6 range.

Thanks, I’ll have to use her some but the only hot spot I can foresee is where the end of the lambsfoot ends closed and my index finger.

I have thought on more than one occasion that it was a missed opportunity to not use Ebony on these Aces - I agree that it would have suited the knife considerably better.

That said, I am happy that they went with black micarta rather than black acrylic.

This is where those "sunken joints" that have been referenced would have come in handy.

I like the black linen micarta. They just used Ebony on the 36 and use it quite often. They don't use black linen micarta much. I think it looks classy and is very tough stuff. Besides, they have some gorgeous ironwood to cover the wood cover aspect.

Thanks for sharing the pictures… congrats. Can’t wait to get one in my hand. How’s does that nail nick placement feel on the lambfoot? Someone else mentioned the kick was to high but it looks like it would be buried behind the primary blade if it was a lower kick.
