2022 GEC Bayou Trapper #88 Thread

This one has definitely caught my attention! A little bigger than I normally carry, but excited to see if I can land one.
With the clip and lambfoot, it’s an unusual combination, but has potential for a solid, everyday go to knife.
Tip of the cap to Bill for this vision!

I have been hoping for a stockman but these look really slick to me. 3 1/2” - 3 7/8” would have really made this hide in the pocket but l can’t complain, I’m still stoked to get one of these! I love both of these blade shapes.

I love the pattern. I have become a big fan of lambsfoot blade aswell over the last few months. So i'm definitely gonna try to get one of these. However i wish did they a single blade version aswell, then i would be totally sold on it.

This looks very nice indeed. I'm a big trapper fan, and a trapper on a sowbelly frame is very fun take.

Have there been any leaked info on additional cover options outside of the brown jigged bone shown in the mockup?

Not a whole lot of info coming out on these 88s. Hopefully that means the interest level is low and I'll be actually able to get one ha! Need to get my hands on a lambsfoot.

From what I understand there are a few things ahead of this. Don't know much more than that.

Though it is difficult to get a GEC-made Lambsfoot (not too many of them out there), it isn't particularly hard or expensive to get a serviceable Lambsfoot otherwise. If you haven't tried one out yet, I would fully recommend it.

I agree, the recent Sheffield A. Wright &Son lambsfoot knives I’ve gotten appear to show a improvement in QC. That and they are readily available for reasonable prices. Here’s an example of my latest.

Not a big fan of Sowbelly pattern and shape... but i would take a #77 with that Lambsfoot blade for sure! hahaha

What I like about this is the long clip on the primary blade. that being said they will sell during the day while I'm working and so, like everything they've offered over the past two years, I'll do without.

Hmmm....I'll check out the pictures of these when they drop, I just don't know if I like that shape very much. That said, it IS good that they're making another large pattern, so who knows. Maybe I'll end up with one if there's a cover I particularly like.
