2022 GEC Bayou Trapper #88 Thread

Bill’s first Sowbelly. This one has great feel in the hand. The bend in the frame accommodates the closed blades really well so that you don’t really feel them.

Not sure the shape calls to me. But want to keep watching my mind has changed before.

When I see that shape I reflexively think "Case." Not sure why. I would be interested in getting my hand on one - literally - except I am an "Attacker of the Lambsfoot." 😂 Just never had much use for that blade shape.

I am excited for these but am curious how it will feel in hand with one blade open and the other closed. Picture using the clip while the lambsfoot is closed.

That would have a nice closed profile as a single blade clip.

Do we know if this will have half stops? I’m out of practice on GEC deductive reasoning.

My guess is that if they have stockman blades also designed, and I would think they do. This will not have half stops. But I can't say for sure.

I ll be going all out to get one o these....had a recent debacle with fedex over a lost in the mail delivery of an ebony Case Sowbelly which the kind and noble dealer has replaced gratis...highly recommended..great communication and customer service...However.The package of 2 knives made it all the way from USA to Bega NSW...less than 1 hr drive from me...only to be given to an illiterate deliverer...so instead of actually reading the address ..they sent it back to ( cue shimmering mirage over millions of red tiled rooves, filthy brown air and deafening cicadas)..Sydney....where the tracking number is as useful as the explorers Burke and Wills last message...initials carved on a tree..The friendly but not caring a jot fedex guy simply telling me "Its lost! "...grrrr. Rant over...
Anyway hopefully I get to nab an 88.
Cheers.

Say a fella had an extra 47 or 93, think a blade swap would be possible to make a single lambsfoot and a unique sowbelly trapper? The closed dimensions on the 93 and 47 are just slightly smaller 3 7/8 vs 4 I believe.

I'm not looking for a head start, won't be competing, but any word on when they will/might drop. Just looking forward to seeing other members photos.

The GEC website only says it will be produced in "early 2022". To me, early generally means the first quarter of the year which would be January thru March. However, that is only an estimate on their part. With worldwide supply chain issues happening everywhere, it could be later in the year.
