2022 GEC Bayou Trapper #88 Thread

Ok, confession time.
I trash talked the GEC 88 design before it came out. Then I finally used one, and I actually like it. It looks like it would be uncomfortable but it really is not bad. Actually, I am liking my Yeti quite a lot as a user. The lambsfoot is really great too, which I did not expect.

you trash talked my favorite release? 😭

Sheila 🐊 is in my pocket everyday and is as comfortable processing a filet in a high-end steakhouse as she is opening the mail on the couch in the living room.

as one of my heroes would've said "crikey, have a look at this little rippa'!"

The Gator 88 was the first GEC that grabbed my attention. Being in Florida I really wanted one. Sadly I missed out

Ooh that's a good spread. I was lucky enough to get what I thought the finest two - the SJC Alligator (satin blades, check), and the NF DIW. This is the first time I've sen that OKCA Beaver - it's a winner too!

I've come to the conclusion that Jiki Jiki and Heynowwww Heynowwww share equal blame for the Yeti 88 that's now on its way to me. The cold shower thing didn't work at all. 😓

My DIW has been in my pocket today and yesterday - my other one, the Alligator, sees some action too, but the DIW is just so damned handsome. The #88 is a truly brilliant and practical knife and I reckon many of those who were initially less than impressed with the pattern will be kicking themselves a few years down the line.

I am, just carried my Yeti the other day. I cut open some boxes. I really like it alot.

I'm not carrying it today though, as I'm carrying the engraved Case mini trapper my wife gave me since it is a special occasion... my baby boy was born on the 20th!!! My wife and I are still at the hospital as she recovers but everything is going well. Life is good!

I don't carry mine, but I think it is a great pattern with very useful blades.... Someday the owners will warm up to it, and realize what a gem they have......
