2022 GEC Bayou Trapper #88 Thread

Yep, that's a nice green indeed. It's just not for me. Oh well, if that's the case, it'll just make another one available for someone who will enjoy it. Another really cool carving by the way!

That green would be just fine by me if you want to make it available for this someone 😁

I'm also thinking it could be beautiful in brown / chestnut like the rendering of course.

I am not a big fan of green knives, but I would be disappointed if the jigged bone 88 was NOT green! Even the dreaded regularly patterned jigging GEC normally uses would make sense on a knife designed to evoke a gator! Those two big blades are reminiscent of alligator teeth, and the shape of the pattern is gatoresque. If we are going down the Bayou Trapper route, let’s go all the way!

Wow! how long is that gator? It doesn't look that heavy, but that tail is astounding. You are probably right, the color should be green on this one. GEC jigged bone is nothing spectacular, so I will probably pass on that one regardless. That is, unless they can replicate gator scales or something interesting.

That reminds me of a joke.

Where does a 13 foot alligator sit?

Anywhere he wants.

Gotta hand it to you Greg Leslie Tomville Leslie Tomville . You've quite the immagination:) but there's no gentle sway to the belly of that gator although, I admit I've never seen a green pig/sow.
If that's not the gentle away of a belly I don't know what is. In addition, I'm going to take the word of a Louisiana man on the subject, I'm sure Greg Leslie Tomville Leslie Tomville has seen his share of gators.

Stag looks good on a Sowbelly pattern. Any word on whether Howard will put one out with stag?

Green jigged bone would look good too.

No stag on the production schedule. Looks like micarta, acrylic, ironwood, and jigged bone. I’m liking the idea of green jigged bone, based on Ed’s Case sowbelly, it would look fantastic.

Maybe the purchasing process could be adjusted....We each get a boat and some nets...they chuck all the knives in a gator infested Bayou and we have to trawl through the swamp to get one....anyone caught flipping ,well ...dey no come back now....I reckon I got a better chance of snagging one that way..

How many times do you call them a week?
Not as often as you may think. I do have a good relationship there, but it just seems like a lot of questions come out from members here, one by one, that I had asked during in-depth conversations. This typically happens at the time a new model is being released.
