I figured I shoulda realized.
It definitely adds something.I figured I shoulda realized.
It was even better to be surprised, though!
Look on Amazon first. Then eBay. They used to be in a 80 to 200 range. It would be fab to gat a Levine 4, but once again being in Europe seems to make that impossible. I suspect they cost the earth too...
Don’t forget red(ish).A heck of a time to take a step back from forums and GEC buying in general.
This has all the hallmarks of a standout knife: the peerless 35 frame, versatile cattle knife configuration, and sturdy all steel construction - you can't beat that. I'm a touch envious, it looks like a very fine knife indeed.
I look forward to seeing more pictures and reading everyone's thoughts.
Don’t forget red(ish).![]()

I saw Mike's early reserve notice come in and I thought, "Sure... why not....". Who am I kidding though, reservations were closed as soon as I clicked on the link. I have the unrelenting demand for GEC to thank for keeping me on the straight and narrow.![]()

I hold the same opinion. I general see Jack's as two blades on the same side, and knives with blades on opposite sides get broken down into pens and moose patterns depending on the number of springs. At least that's how I've always looked at it.Second aside, in someways it CAN clarify matters to regard a Jack knife as 2 blades one end, there are double ended Jacks but I feel it's more descriptive to regard them as Pen type construction. Penknives being blades at each end often single spring, original Penknives were the Quill type, long handle short blade for sharpening Quills prior to steel nib manufacture early c19th. Penknives can later be seen with 3 blades in some old catalogues but this was likely cutlery firms' rationale and 'Penknife' is the usual general term used by non knife types to describe what we all like here: Traditional spring knives 1 and more blades![]()
I'm not on the list. What does Mike have coming out?I don't know - I'm feeling pretty foolish right now
