Hi Everyone, I'll start the 2022 Hiking and Outdoors thread with the small stroll we took today around the house.

Just two hours and 8km with temps around the freezing point.

If you are out your door and have a Becker with you, take a pic or more and share your adventure or stroll:)

I live in Germany, near Ramstein Airbase - I have the Palatine Forest at my doorstep and this old hilly area is in asking me daily to explore it:)

We take part in a hiking challenge, where you have ten different hikes between 6 and 15miles and ten different questions that we have to find the answer for.
The answer can be chiseled in stone or you need to research a bit more:

For example, the question for this hike was: What is Heenes Monopol?
- We found that in 1852 the master forester Carl Theodor Heene had this gully hewn into the hilltop to make wood transport easier and when interviewed about his work, he mistook the word Monument for Monopol.

Finishing all hikes and finding all right answers is going to be quite tricky, but also very rewarding:)

Sorry for the long explanation, but I really dig this:)

Sodele, today we stepped up the game, 10miles (16.5km) and the hike was shaped like a U. Start high, down into the valley and up again...

The last 2 miles straight up were quite exhausting, but it really gives you a sense of accomplishment;)

There was a vending machine stacked with US Snacks in the small village we hiked through, as there are quite some Americans living:)

Now we're back and I enjoy a little heartwarmer...

Beautiful area man, thanks for sharing.

Fellow Beckerheads, please also share your outings, right now a stroll outside without looking at your phone or any news is the best thing you can do for your health/mental health:)

Take your Becker between the teeth and head out - don't forget the pictures:)

Wasty Wasty , man you have a gift for photography. These pics are top notch! Thanks for sharing.
I need to hit the trails with my kiddos. When I do I’ll try and post up some pics here.

Today, after a longer break due to family stuff we went out again and did a 12km hike.

There was some fairytale sculptures on the trail, some of them looked quite good...

It was really good, batteries are full and now I'm looking forward to a nice dinner:)

Before I forget, the question was how many rungs the steel ladder had... It was seven, but you needed first to climb up to the rock, that was half a mile steep uphill...

Thank you for the great pics :) It seems you had some fun! Is that an old part of a steam locomotive?
