That is so cool. Are there any mines in the area? Any evidence of a sawmill? I’m often amazed at the condition of some of that iron, sitting out in the elements for a hundred and fifty years or so.

That is Castle Gräfenstein near Merzalben.
They had set up a tent and a stage inside, for a music festival in the evening. Perfect place to rest and unexpectedly have a near beer

We are experiencing a dry heatwave, so our outings are a bit shorter and less long...

A quick 10km stroll today just out of the house...

Today I hiked up a real mountain in the Alps, just south of Munich. As I had different company with me I couldn't take out the 14, 17 and 7 that accompanied me, but the Beckerhead Patch is proof
