This knife is brilliant! Mine just came in a few hours ago. The 34 pattern is super cool.

I like my 92 Eureka Jack--a similar length humpy in my collection. But I think the 34 blows it away. I was surprised, that the 34 is marginally lighter than my micarta covered Eureka. Even though it's thinner the 34 feels more hand filling and substantial than the 92 whilst being a comparable weight and length with two blades.

In the past I've mostly been a jackknife, SAK or modern single blade guy, but this and the amazing 35 Cattle Knife from last year are making me really finally appreciate multi blade and pen configuration traditionals more. I've had other stockman and camp knives in the past that I didn't find compelling.

Rarely do I buy slippies that open on opposite ends (blade rub, tangs poking into hand in use getting worse the tighter you grip). These are well made at a good price so if some blade rub develops all is not lost. Not quite sunken joints but almost ... low enough not to cut into hand while gripping. Great blade shape for the main, bad steel choice for food prep. Bone looks great with the lighter reveal around the edges, good texture too. Shield is properly centered, something GEC has a problem getting right. Polished / pinched bolsters, nice and shiny. Have given away most of the forum knives purchased in the last 10 years, not sure about this one. 25 years ... seems like only yesterday I joined.

Tell me about it, I joined just a hair over a decade ago myself. I sometimes think back to the knives I was talking about then, man have things (and I!) come a long way since then.
