2024 GEC 321224

While not up to Sheffield standards, this Stag 32 knife I just received is interesting! I would describe it as being "stringy"! Kinda like how Joe Cocker used to sing some of his songs!! Ha Ha!! Fill in the blanks!!
I actually like it!! It has a character all its own!!View attachment 2670243View attachment 2670244
It actually looks like vintage, used, carried and pocket worn.

I had not planned to get in on these, but...
If the branding is not allowed I can blur and replace.

   I was surprized they were available for a while. 🤷‍♂️
Yeah, I was on a trip and my primary method of payment was being blocked (I assume they detected I was out of state and was like check your other device which I could not). So I had to fall back to credit card which is never fast enough. I was surprised when after all of that it went through. 😁

I think some were available to the next day. I set my alarm and still forgot about the drop lol turned off my alarm but managed to acquire the Red Pearl that night 👍🏻
I think the price was why they didn’t move as fast as you would have thought. With that being said I’m sure glad I got one and definitely perfect fit and finish and the sharpest Gec out of the tube I’ve ever owned . Either got lucky or Austin gave it some love :)

There’s been so many great patterns made by GEC this year. 39s, 78s, and these 32s are no slouches either. The SFOs in particular were great.

I've been too busy buying (and paying for 😳) all these amazing single springs to take pictures or even sharpen them up. Finally got to both on this little guy today for WW. This 32 fits perfectly in one of the "pen" pockets of the new Carhartt overalls (which are too big to hold a pen).

I would have preferred one of the ebony or especially one of these red SFOs, but was too busy being waylaid here in Asheville by the hurricane to be able to try for one. My cocobolo is quite nice though. I should be able to put an edge on it soon, about to head back to Kansas City at the end of the week and I think just move back there.

Austin said he held some of the SFOs back to do another drop specifically because people were dealing with the storm.

I picked up a red acrylic. This was a factory second. Note the small dot between the two center pins. Ignore the hair 🥸

This SFO debuted on a Friday, and the last red acrylic sold out on Monday night. I do not think there was a lack of demand due to price, rather - I think there were just enough units to meet the demand.

These type of drops usually sell out in seconds, and I am thinking that normal runs are divided amongst so many dealers that there are likely only a few of each in stock on each drop. Not the case here, and as a result, anyone even remotely aware of this drop was able to get one.

I nominate #32 for the 2024 KOTY. Perfectly built, excellent ergonomics, big and useful 78's blades. Looks good, feels good, what esle to ask for? 78s were indeed great too, but 32 has an advantage of being a PPP.

Cocobolo on mine is very dark, compared to what I have always seen before. I even have a hard time showing its tone on photo. Heard it will darken over time, means mine has a chance to turn black sooner than later, not that I am bothered by that anyway. Like Marcus Aurelius said, everything is a subject to change.
