I'm looking at the 39 Indian paint brush worm groove but confused about coloring, I have a 65 that is called Indian paint brush that is apple red,then was shown Indian paint brush from one of jim/jiki on a 53/54 that had red with yellow undertones like this but darker guess we will have to see when pictures drop in next while.

Think outside the box. The Indian uses many colors. Maybe didn't clean the brush? Maybe doing the Bob Ross "a little dab of this, a little dab of that" thing.

My 65 is the same as yours. A deep bright solid red.

I see a lot of Indian Paintbrush in the Sierra, and it ranges from orange to red to fuchsia. Here is a selection of shades seen in the Sierra; there are probably a lot of other shades elsewhere. BTW, some people are trying to change the name from Indian Paintbrush to just Paintbrush.
