Limiting how people give you money is a rookie mistake. Because one guy, five years ago charged back. lol

If I were selling my goods and that's how the competition was doing it. My booth would accept CC's, PP, Google Wallet, Zelle, Cash app, Bread, bitcoin, HSA Accounts, Pesos and Titles.

🤣
Yeah but it's Strider. Do you think they want to declare all those transactions? Cash under the table means less tax they have to remit.

Buying a strider at bladeshow is probably the worst place to try to buy one. If ya really want one there’s probably almost 5 in mint condition listed on the exchange here everyday. The strider booth is always bat shit crazy until there’s nothing left.

Last year I had my first and only early bird ticket for Atlanta. Got in line around 3:30-4am and was probably 200 people before me. I actually enjoyed the experience. Got to hang out with like minded lunatics and even though I was that far back in the line I was still the first person to make it to Les’ table. Unfortunately he didn’t have anything I was looking for but I still snagged a morph talos for a good buddy and fellow Les head. I’ve always had a great time at bladeshow. And from my experience the organizers do an excellent job amidst all the chaos.

And to the op, you just let a bad start turn into another huge mistake. There are so many excellent knives made by great people amongst the tables to be discovered. Most of which would have accepted your credit card for an even better knife in that price range.

The elephant in the room might be is the blade show the best place to get a deal from the maker.
If i was a seller i would have to factor in the extra overhead of being at the show and paying for a spot into the cost of every item that i sell there.

Well, in all politeness, when you become someone who makes something that hundreds of unwashed black shirt wearing weirdos* pay extra to attend a show early just to buy you out of everything you brought....you'll be free to conduct business however you want, ya know?

God, I can't believe I'm having to defend a bum like Burger, but the fact is, dude was only taking cash that day...and sold all his knives that morning, it sounds like. I'd daresay he's not too bothered by any potential business lost from someone who came to BLADE without cash. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Sorry, I have to laugh, because I'm just trying to think on all the sweet deals I've made at BLADE in all the years I've been going because I had cash in hand, and I can't even remember 'em all. If you show up to BLADE with only plastic in your pocket....you're just kneecapping yourself unnecessarily, in my long, direct experience. I've been going to BLADE as long as OP has, all that time cash has been king.

* I'm a washed version of this exact weirdo, so I get to make fun of my own tribe!

Should have gone straight to LG's booth.
Normally, I'd agree. This year, all he had were several plain-jane stonewash VECPs. No Mynas, or anything else really unique (except for the three auction pieces). I was like, the third person there and was disappointed, and left empty-handed. Only Damascus knives in evidence were on the Defiant 7 table. If you don't have any LGs, I could definitely agree, but if you're a longtime LG fan who was hoping to score something special...this year, that wasn't happening.

I know I keep responding to you, sorry about that, not singling you out. I wanted to chime in with agreement that this is the way it should be done, certainly. There were an awful lot of signs at small tables this year that said people will accept Bitcoin as payment, so you aren't off the mark.

The better deal is getting it at retail from the maker and not getting scalped on the secondary.
