My Eureka Jack got delivered today!
The orange bone surpriced me as it has faint "nutty" shade to it. My phone can not pick it up unfortunately but it looks good and pleases me The pattern feels good in the hand, great actually, and the frame packs a lot of blade too. The secondary blade is hella cool looking and you can just tell by looking that it will CUT.


The knife only lacks one thing. Spring tension :-(
The main blade has zero snap from half-stop to open. I have to lead the blade in order to get it fully open. I hope a proper flushing will sort it out...

I've been seeing across multiple sources that these are coming with bad springs on the small blade. I wasn't sure if I'm just seeing the same 1-2 guys be vocal in multiple places, or if it is more of a widespread issue.

Just received this last week. After flushing, the action is SOOOO smooth. Workmanship outstanding.

I just received an orange one, and it has great action on both blades as well, even without flushing.

i got burned on all three examples in 2019, all with anemic pulls so im happy to sit this one out. hope it works out for those going after one, there are certainly nice cover options

Flushing on repeat and fiiiinally my Eureka snaps open - a weak snap but a snap nonetheless. I guess that's how it is sometimes but I'm not scared off - I got the white oily bone arriving in a few days

There is no excuse for these weak pulls and lazy snaps. GEC's reputation is taking a hit more and more with this problem.

In their early years their knives usually had alligator snap. That was certainly true of the 73s that I bought. Now the pendulum has swung the other way.

I think I have plugged into the GEC mania successfully. My most recent came today. Just a quick photo. A White Linen Micarta Eureka Jack. I'm happy with the pull on both blades. My first knife with a coping blade.

Arrived today. Light-ish pulls, but after flushing both blades snap open and closed acceptably.
