Jim, I understand the metal inlay to be the symbol for the Youth Hostel Association. It's an 80's made Spartan. I really like it too. I haven't seen many of them around.

Now that you said that I remember. When I got out of the Marines I traveled up the Pacific Coast hwy through California, Oregon and into Washington. I had never heard of youth hostels before but a buddy told me about them. I signed up and stayed at one at a light house and a cabin in the redwoods. It was a cheap way to travel for a young guy with not much money. And I would have had my Small Tinker with me when I stayed there too 😁
