Hey guys wondering what people would recommend for a folder in this price range. I want a 3.5 inch at most, 2.75 at least blade length and one handed opening. Absolutely no recurves or anything close, annoys me not being able to get the whole blade on a hone. I know there are literally thousands matching these criteria, but go ahead and mention the popular models. My problem is the even 25 bucks is a lot of money to me and I always find knives I like and forget about them when I have money. Hoping this will ring some bells.

Edit: Man my Android autocorrect makes me sound like English isn't my first language lol

Byrd Meadowlark. Very underrated blade. I would also take a long, hard look at some Real Steel knives. I have a Griffon E775 from them that is very nearly perfect. That model is out of your price range, but if it's indicative of their quality then you're not gonna go wrong with one of the less expensive blades.

Catch it on sale with free shipping and you are there at your limit.

I really really like mine. I have the Model 1a Assist open.

If you can handle a tanto tip, I'd also recommend you check out the CRKT M-16 - 10KSF available at Wally World for less than 25. There are many models of M-16 from under your target cost to well over double. Great folders IMHO. Designed by Kit Carson. All types of configurations and blade styles. Rugged open design. Easy to carry. My preferred EDC.

Do not get a crkt m16. Google it.

Also there is a recent thread on BF on most disappointing knives....that knife seems to be named the most.
The title of the thread is "Most disappointing knife purchase?"

I think kershaws offer a lot of value for your $

There are a lot of Bucks that fall under your criteria, check out the prices online and at the big box stores.

I know that I always recommend it, but the buck 482 fits your criteria perfectly and it's only 20$ +󾓦 their 420Hc is a great edc steel, and the knife is nice and lightweight with a lanyard hole and a deep carry pocket clip. I've carried mine every single day for the past 2 years ( I recent decided to give it a vacation because I now have to have my phone in my pocket, but am gonna put it back in my pocket this summer ) and it has never failed me.

The only thing you may want to be aware of is the fact that there have been cases of the lock failing ( on the bantams and bucklite's ) when they get clogged up with lint and pocket debris ( but any knife should be cleaned out every once in a while ) but it doesn't happen all the time and never happened to me.

Rat 1 or 2.

The Rat 1 is pretty big but is pretty slim and compact for EDC if that makes sense? The Rat 2 is quite a bit smaller but still a great size for EDC. Hard to beat these knives at their price.

Any Sanrenmu...

While I would jump at any opportunity to recommend Chinese knives, SRM is not a good option for his case. He wants something with at least a 2.75" blade, and their main lineup, the 7xxx series, typically fall short of that.

The 9xxx series have his desired blade length but those were never to my liking, and probably won't be to his as well (downright ugly).

Enlan M-series and L-series will be a better option. 8Cr13MoV steel, blade lengths ranging from 2.75" to 3.3" and more importantly, for less than $17.

Ganzo is also an option but most of their knives are at the 3.5" blade length.

Regardless, both Enlan (8Cr13MoV steel) and Ganzo (440C supposedly) offer better value over Smith & Wesson (7Cr17) and Schrade (typically 8Cr13MoV or 9Cr18MoV steel) at lower prices. But S&W and Schrade have nicer designs.
