Online in black. $20.53 BUCK VANTAGE 420 PAUL BOS. FOREVER WARRANTY MADE IN POSTFALLS ID.

Rat 1 is all you need. I don't own a Rat or a Tenacious, however, I've gifted them to others. With that being said I'd buy the Rat 100 times over the Tenacious. I'm a Spyderco guy, but I really don't like the Tenacious. I'd get the Persistence instead.

Lots of good suggestions so far, with the exception of Ganzo. Although their knives are passable, I can't support theft.

Another good one that hasn't been mentioned yet is the CRKT Drifter.

The Tenacious is one awesome knife for the money. I got a lightly used Tenacious and a new without box Sogzilla for $32 shipped recently. My first suggestion would be to spend the money ($11 more) and get a Tenacious. I also have two Byrd knives (Cara Cara and Meadowlark), both are solid for under $20 but the Tenacious Blows it away. My favorite sub-$25 knife is a Real Steel E77, way better than the two Byrd knives (and close to the Tenacious), Knifecenter dot com has them for $21.95

That's a good looking knife, the website pictures never do it justice.

What is the difference between the Vantage and the Vantage Avid? I know the Pro has S30v but I can't tell the difference with the Avid.

Also yeah I noticed all Ganzo had were ripoff of popular patterns. But one thing I didn't like about the RAT was the liner lock and I love the axis lock. But then again I don't know if I really trust the craftsmanship on it.

Still looking up all the other suggestions. The Byrds were pretty good looking. I am disappointed most of the Kershaws mentioned aren't using 14C28N, with the exception ofnth Chili and Oso Sweet. There's really nothing about the Tenacious thst screams being worth ten bucks more, I like the FFG but I think the Byrds were FFG and the RAT I definitely is.

I own two Byrds and the Tenacious so I'm coming from experience...it's worth $10-$15 more. Quicker to deploy, easier one hand closing, G-10 scales, and a blade that is a nice size (Cara Cara is LONG and the Meadowlark is sub 3"). Also the FRN scales are a bit abrasive for an EDC but nice for camping and outdoor activities when you're wearing gloves. You can get the Byrd knives with G10 but then the price difference is even less and the Tenacious still outperforms. The Tenacious also far outperforms my US made Buck Vantage Avid Pro that was more expensive (which Buck has had now for three weeks+ on a warranty repair). I don't own a RAT 1 so I can't comment on those, but I've read nothing but good things about that knife. Sounds like it is the $25 champion right now. Though as mentioned before the Real Steel E77 is very nice for $22, probably my second favorite knife right now. If you want a light duty made in the USA EDC, you can get a Kershaw Skyline for $40 (blems for $32) and it is quite a nice blade that uses the Sandvik 14C28N. It's my "office" or "formal" EDC when I want to be much more conspicuous about carrying a blade.

Avid is the knife shown. Standard is black.

Just saw Rat 1 limited edition with D2 blade steel for anyone who might be interested. Not sure if they are a supporter here so I won't post a link but KW is a clue.

COAST FX350. Look on the bay for them. Very good knives for the bucks spent and 9CR18MOV steel. keepem sharp

I have a Rat 2 and while its a great knife, the Tenacious is worlds better IMHO. I also have a Kershaw Injection 3.0, which is an incredible deal, but I would go with the Rat over the Injection. The Sanrenmu 710 is amazing for $10. The Buck Vantage was a major disappointment for me, the F&F just sucked.

A Kershaw cryo or cryo g10 can be had around that price point. Case sodbuster is $25ish. Most of Kershaw's imported line is in that ballpark and has good quality.

I would pay the extra $11 for a Spyderco Tenacious. I edc'd one for about 4 years, fantastic knife for the money

Opinel in whatwver size you want. That's all I can say I would stand by.
