J,

Awesome thread bro - I found myself nodding and getting all reflective.

Can I add one - That FIRST Friction fire. I will never forget it. With that fire went my fear of the woods.

Pit,

The FUNNY part of that picture is you KNOW Maisy is like "Give me back my chew toy!!!"

You know it, I ended up with some good claw marks that day !!!!

One of my favorites is the muffled silence of a snowy night.
Kickin back in my recliner with one of our cats asleep at my feet and my wife asleep on the couch.
Just being at the cabin I've been going to since I was little.

Amen to all posted before me.

I will add:

- Pulling off your boots after a day of backpacking on mountain trails.

- The Milky Way smiling over you as you drift off to sleep under the stars.

- Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just sitting in the woods, a million miles from the next anyone, with absolutely nothing to do, and all the time in the world to do it.
