25 Things a man should be able to do, (accordin' to MSN) How many can you do?

I thing I did find Out is that I'm a Hardware Guy and Not a Software Guy.:D

I can pretty much do all of them though I would do a few in different ways. I would frame the wall a bit different. I would, of course, do a more elaborate job of sharpening the knife. I would do a much quicker and simpler job of fishing the guy out of the water. I might even just tow him to shore if the water is warm and the distances are short.

One thing I couldn't do, open that link. :( Here's a similar list, or the same reprinted, at Popular Mechanics:

http://www.popularmechanics.com/blogs/technology_news/4221635.html

I've done 20 of them in real-life situations. The remainder:

I've never rescued a boater.
Had CPR training repeatedly, but never had to actually do it.
Who the hell works on their own brakes nowadays? Not worth the risk of screwing something up.
I'm pretty sure I can hook up an HDTV, but I don't have one. Can't be much harder than assembling a computer or inter-connecting the VCR, DVD, TV, and home theater.
Networking is definitely the low spot in my computer abilities. In fact, I ~hate~ trying to fix network stuff, and I don't have a wireless network.

I've done all but save a boater and perform CPR,never had the chance.I've learned CPR so I think I could do it if needed ditto the boater.About half of these I end up doing on a pretty regular basis.I like the one about bleeding brakes,1st step better be,find out why it's low in the first place.I think i'm going to add a couple more like spackling drywall or soldering a connection.

I'd actually prefer to do my own brakes, have you noticed the"repairmen" in most shops nowadays, albeit, most of them have had training, but I've had more repairs screwed up by these guys than I've screwed up myself.

24/25 for me! Never have bled my own brakes before! Also haven't actually saved a boater, but I've driven a boat enough times to think that I could handle it.

17 of them well, 3 or 4 could do it. The rest, just never done it:

Rescue a boater - just get my own butt out of a jam doesn't count
CPR - should know, never practiced, therefore can't do
Clean a rifle - nope, never done it (that's what Dad was for)
Extend a wireless network - just never had to

Two I have not done. Rescue a boater and Bleed my brakes (Which I could do, but chose not to). Steven

I've combined two, while canoein' down the Delaware I cut myself so I guess you could say I bled a boater.;):foot:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

Did he work for MSN?

Most of them except anything that requires swimming (can't) HDTV that's for somebody interested in that kind of thing...

Lot missing though, like how to put OUT fires, how to plant trees, how to machete, how to cook a gourmet meal for the woman you fancy and how to please her afterwards....how to unblock a toilet, how to shave properly and how to put up with certain relatives!

I don't boat, so I have no experience with capsizes... I can't afford an HDTV, but can't see it would be very difficult to do.
Everything else, sure.

I've done a few of these, never had cause to plan an invasion or die gallantly, though. And when it comes to setting broken bones, that one would probably have to be in a life or death situation
