260 Remington for my Wife

Ok,I'll ask...
what is that round thing on the stock, (looks like a snap)
is it decoration or does it have some function?
As you can tell,I have limited experience with rifles :)

It's an Allen bolt head that is recessed in to the wood. You loosen it up to adjust the height of the comb (cheek piece). It is important to get your head lined up correctly behind the scope. For my Wife, using a scope with a large objective lens, she'll need to raise the height up to get lined up correctly.

Joel did a great job making everything super clean. The stock was modeled after an M40, he reduced everything down to make it more comfortable. A "feminine" version. He knocked it out of the park. It fits her like a glove.

**Looks like Garth beat me to it**

Nice rifle and man that stock is beautiful. Great piece of walnut!:thumbup: Glad you mentioned the adjustable comb because I didn't even notice until you did... :o :):)

What a relief......

I thought from the title that this was a trade on the exchange

NICE ..... 260Rem will probably be the next calibre i play with. I guy I regularly hunt with is using a 6.5x55 and I am more than sold on the 6.5 projectile...!!

That is one sweeeeeet looking rifle. Your wife is one lucky gal and hope you both have a successful hunt this year

Absolutely beautiful:thumbup:

Mark, that is a beautiful piece of wood you got for your wife! :D ;)

In all seriousness, awesome rifle, please take that Remington 700 in .243 from the guy who thinks he can outshoot ya. If he shows up that is. :)

What would really be good looking would be a 1" hole in a target at 100 yards after five shots. Otherwise all you have is just a piece of fancy wall hanger.

I'll put my Rem 700 .243 up against this one in a shootoff, winner take both. Let me know when to show up for the contest.
Deal?
....wow....just saw that....wow... (the spanking emoticon would be appropriate here of course), that said my AII Sako .308 (will the action is Sako AII) can put five rounds into one hole (that is under an inch) at 100 so can I collect a remmy .243 off'a you as well....need something for *MY* .260 project after all ...... ;)

I'm confused. Do you normally go around pissing on other folks thread? What's the point?

You have a grand total of 3 posts on the Busse forum. Our friend winmagfrog is a regular here, a true Hog. He starts a post to share a nice thing with his friends here in this community, and you come along to insult him.

Why?

i've said too much. We should ignore the troll.

What contour is the barrel? Looks somewhere between a Douglass #4 or #5.

Who's bottom metal did you use? Trigger? Brake?

Beautiful wood and great idea for cheek weld with the large object scope.

I was lucky enough to find a Leupold 4.5-14x40 LR for my 260 project...now working on a 6-250.

As for the 1" comment...must be nice to be thrilled with factory accuracy...I'd have save a pile of money by now.

Seems to me your wife's new stick with VLDs should hold close to an 1" at 300yrds off that sturdy bipod.
