The original Presidio 520 was just about perfect to me… which is why I’m glad I still have one (well, a 5000 anyway) and carry it every day at work. But it’s set up for left side carry. Strangely enough, I didn’t warm up to the aluminum Presidio 2 as much as I did the CF Elite version, and I had two of the aluminum versions before the plastic one. Man, I wish someone would put out micarta scales for it.I like Benchmades. I think they've always made a good knife. My all time favorite BMs are probably the Mini Rukus, the Mini Skirmish, and the last one will have to go to a recent production model and I'm currently tied between the Bugout and the Griptilian on that one.
One thing I've thought since I came back to knives last year is that people are missing out on the old original Presidio. The Presidio 2 looks nice and I'm glad it's getting pretty popular, but the old Presidio, with it's aluminum scales, was just awesome.
I definitely wouldn’t mind finding another OG manual 520 (or even another 5000) for off-duty carry, but they seem to come with hefty price tags on the rare occasion I do see them. Until I find a reasonably priced one, the Presidio 2, and all my other knives, seem to take care of whatever I need them to.
