3 Inch Fixed Blades

If you're looking for a custom to wear in your pocket. Try Don Cowles. Great knives, great carry system.

Everybody already knows what I'm going to say. Dozier.... Dozier... Dozier.... His prices just can't be beat for the amazingly functional quality he offers.

Jens Anso also makes some drop dead gorgeous small fixed blades. They cut like crazy too. I was a bit skeptical of stainless damascus at first, but Jen's has proven to be very good.

Nice knife. No bells and whistles but pure utility performance. The steel is great, the size is just about perfect for a daily urban carry fixed blade and the handle is pretty comfortable, even if you have large hands.

The CRKT Ryan Plan B is a great (and cheap!) choice in this range! I got one at a gun show for $18! As for customs, you can't go wrong with a Dozier.

Happy hunting!

Dozier. He's the man for small fixed blades. I also like R.W. Clark's small asian style blades, the MAU models.

This one just about made my heart stop, and he makes this style in smaller sizes as well, for very reasonable prices.

OK, right now the top choices are Simonich, Rinaldi, and Dozier. Thanks for all the responses so far.

I've really got a "thing" for fixed-blades too.

Here's a few:

But since you're after something closer to 3", check out some of these:

Yes, Scott Cook's blades are very nice. I'm waiting for the small Lochsa to come out. The small Owyhee has caught my eye.

My Bitteroot is on it's way. Maybe after I get it, I will have a little better idea. I like the idea of the "pinky" ring at the butt of the Crowfoot. It would be nice to not have to lay the knife done while still working.

OwenM...Thanks for the offer. But I don't think the Owyhee is really what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Ed Caffrey, Mastersmith, makes a small forged fixed blade for $145.00 that's the sh*t, complete with a horizontal belt sheath. People who want one are told to email him and get on the list for when he does another run. Beautiful forged small blade from a mastersmith for what some production models go for.
