3 Inch Fixed Blades

How about a Benchmade/Snody 210 Activator? The blade is only 2.50" long, but it looks to be an excellent little knife.

Jens Anso also makes some drop dead gorgeous small fixed blades. They cut like crazy too. I was a bit skeptical of stainless damascus at first, but Jen's has proven to be very good.

Buzzbait, what are the dimensions of the Anso pictured below? I'm thinking about picking one of these up. I like his sheepsfoot & city edge knives. I'm hoping for something smaller than 3". Thanks.

I also second trying one of Ragnars. The Eriksson Mora can be had in carbon steel, and is only $9. It out cuts many of my higher end knives, and is surprisingly comfortable.

An alternative to Dozier (his site indicates that he's sold out) are the Queen 4180 series hunters in D2. Mine hold a wicked edge for a very long time. Everyone says that Bob Dozier is the D2 meister, but it's hard to imagine that they can be that much better than the Queens. They really are great, and nice and small in the hand, not some huge chunk of steel.

Of course, as soon as I can get a Dozier, I'll be happy to test it out personally and report back! :D

Dunno if you'd consider modern-looking, but the Strider DB and SA are sweet. Blade length is 3", stock thickness is 1/4", definitely full tang, and unlike all the rest of the suggestions, there's virtually no slipping forward with the deep index guard.

It came somewhat sharp, but with a very thick edge. After I thinned it down (I have an Edgepro for that), it completely changed it's character, and is now one of my favorites.

That is what I was going to say. The 210 is on my shortlist.
