Almost makes me want to have kids again, so I can teach them skills. Mine are in their 40's, and I can't teach them anything.

Cute pics.
Good to show to those who think knives are only for killing.
That kid will have an appreciation of knives for what they primarily are; useful tools.:)

As a guy who has LOST One eye from a little chip of steel , That is insane, a little chip of the piece of block or steel and he could be half blind for life, let me tell you, it takes the smallest fraction of a second to loose an eye. Been there, done that and have been without my shooting eye for 35 years so far, Then heaven forbid, you damage the other eye later. Would you want to know that you caused that?:confused:

Hate that for you friend.

Just hate to see anyone teach a kid the worse way to do something, seem like I read somewhere about pounding on steel with rocks.

Handsome boy you got there! Got two myself, taught them proper knife handling skills early on also.

I would consider myself lucky to have him along in a survival situation.

We could eat him.

J/K, of course!!!!! Great pics.

What are you doing here:D
Fantastic pic, lovely kid:)

How you know that? By experience? By see the pic? because they don't have safety+eyeglasses?
Enlighten us!?

I'll enlighten you. I won't presume to answer for udtjim, that's up to him. What I will tell you is that, yes, from what I know, it is from personal experience — but aside from that, it's just common sense. Jim — who lost an eye to just that kind of thing — is trying to save the child's eye: are you against that? Do you have a child who's eye you would like to see put out because you think it's okay to hit steel with stone, with his little face so close to where he's working?

Lose the abrasive attitude: Jim was trying to help.

Your overreaction detracts from a lovely thread.

The little un's big brothers look just fine, so I guess that the excellent parents are doing just fine!

And have been doing so for many years...
