$30 Folders Which One?

You would have almost enough left of your $30, inc s/t, to buy a 'Happy Meal' from the McD's in WallyWorld's food court here locally if you bought a Buck 110 Folding Hunter. That's a real great utility knife - and an American icon. Still made in the USA, too (except the sheath). Doesn't budge the old tacticool meter's needle much, if that's your intent.

For ~$50 - from Bass Pro Shops, etc - you can buy the Buck 347 Vantage Pro with a flipper and liner-lock - and a great S30V blade. The Spyderco Native, also S30V, is another great lockback - with a thumbhole. It was a fantastic value, once upon a time, at WallyWorld - but $60 prices can be found with some searching. I know, I crept up = like the others - before you know it, we'll suggest a Sebenza!

I stand by my Buck 110 from Wally World, Academy, etc suggestion - <$30 with s/t.

Stainz

Buck 110 for all the talk of hard use tactical folders, this knife has been used by more cops, soldiers and bikers over the years than any other. Buy a $3 thumb stud from SMNW and your good to go

Of course I can't not mention the Tenacious and Skyline. But also consider:

Kershaw Centofante @ $33:

Or a red one at Knifeworks for $27:

Kershaw Needs Work @ $35:

These are all AO, I believe.

Not to sound like a broken record, but for that price range, get the Tenacious. I just got my Dad one for Christmas (around $37 with free shipping from Amazon.com) and he's completely enamored by it.
