Have we all lost our FREAKINGASS minds? Seriously? Somebody tell me this is someone's idea of a joke.....Please! I thought I saw it all when that original SFNO went for over a grand (last year?) on Epay....but to see it here, not to mention what still goes on over at Epay. I dunno....I've marked up a few knives in my day...but a few hundred percent?...nope! no freaking way! Whatever the market will bare...my A$$!

Ok....I feel better! Thanks for listening....hope I didn't offend anyone....feel free to move this to the whine and cheese.

.

Solstice, this is why you must come to the Dark Side with me and help persuade (bribe with much alcohol) BOSS HOG to re-release the CG-SFNO, :D

HOLY CRAP! I was recently wondering what my CGSFNO would bring (NO, I'm not considering selling it) and I see my answer. Mine is going in to the shop to get pimped and then getting beat like a.............. well it will get more use.
At those prices I would be tempted if I didn't have a conscience.

I know variants / customs usually go for roughly ~700.00, but prior to recent sales, what did they typically go for?

Edit: didn't see that other one!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Well if someone is willing to pay that kind of price then more power to them. I know what you mean though. Those SFNO prices have gotten pretty crazy. There will be always be sellers trying to get a premium so long as there are folks willing to pay those sort of prices.

I like the SFNO and all but they are not 2-3 times better than a HR. In my opinion the HR is every bit as good as a SFNO in terms of performance.

I thought the thread was referring to the SFNO that is SPF and went for ~720 bucks earlier today.

...Not the one that currently received a handsome price increase and is selling for over a grand.

I mean, if thats what people are paying - more power to them. SFNO is a fantastic knife. I have trouble buying some Busse knives at factory cost. The markups that we see from knife sellers on the private exchange can be unbearable at times.

Such is the nature of the exchange I guess.

Better act quick before the next price increase! :D

I think someone had a couple of drinks & is having some fun! :p

I was actually gonna offer 2k firm on that one but didn't wanna dump on the guys thread! ;) :p

I just realized that we can't really figure the markup percentage by using the original factory price. It is possible that some have paid a premium for their SFNO's and are now trying to move them. Who knows????

Nevertheless, those prices have skyrocketed like crazy considering that the recent batch of Knobcreek CGSFNOs were selling for 287 at the show. Some of those buyers immediately turned around and sold them for 500+

As Ban mentioned we could have another situation here. It could very well be that the sellers did not score their SFNO's at sub $300 prices. It could be that they recently paid a premium price for it, decided that they wanted something else, and now need to sell their SFNO at the same premium they bought it at.

I'm not sure that today's ~$720 sale is really SPF quite yet. He jumped the gun by saying SPF to me, before he agreed to my terms and we finalized the offer. He seemed to pay no heed to this critical part of my buy offer: "if you can work out payment details with me." Since I laid out the details, I haven't yet heard back from him.

Hopefully, it will work out for both of us.

No doubt, the price I'm agreeing to pay is beyond the market norm. I expect I'm catching the height of a bubble. If others are expecting that they can buy at this price as an investment for a quick profit, I expect they're sorely mistaken.

Cheers, folks.

Sometimes you need to pay a premium to get a blade you really want though.

I have one blade sitting here that I have no hope of recouping my cost on anytime soon, however I knew that when I purchased it.

I know you guys feel really bad about selling the SFNO for so much. Don't you? Yes you do. And now you want to set things right again. Correct? Yep. So this is where I come in. I'll take both at the original prices. I'll be happy. You'll feel better. All will be right in the world. ;)

Seriously, don't sweat it. We are jealous and just all want one for ourselves. Our time will come. :D

Let's drink.

I woulda been happy paying that price for the one UDDwaine snagged the other day off the bay, especially after the surprise twist regarding the logo on the wrong side!
