$300 MTECHS??!!

That ?!?

That pivot isn’t even the same. The Kershaw Injection version has six divots around the torx drive recess. That version on that Marines knife only has five. Also they are totally different sizes.

So if that is the “identical” pivot that not our pal was talking about.....woops...

Wait a minute. You get all pissed off and stamp your feet like a kid and you don't know how to use a search engine. Then carry on about knife brands buying parts from the same 3rd party parts manufacturer to cover up for Kershaw using Master Cutlery.(laughing)...you are the worst kind of consumer...the kind that can't read.

Good lord the false idolizing of putting the Kershaw on the blade of a very inexpensive knife manufacturer then doubling the cost. It's usually viewpoints and lack of knowledge like this that hurts the brand and reputation of any kind of product or manufacturer.

The man said he wanted to see that exact pivot on an MTech...I'm giving him what he asked for...proof.

I'm still waiting for proof on the pivot. Those are all different than the Injection.

The first one you posted is definitely an example of Kershaw rebranding a master cutlery knife though. I wasn't aware they were doing it, but it doesn't surprise me. A lot of manufacturers do. Most of Boker's Magnum line is made by master cutlery.

Most. Not all. Same goes for Kershaw. Given the massive jump in quality between the gas station junk that MTech sells and the Injection, I suspect someone else makes it.

I could be wrong, but if I am there's even less excuse for the low quality stuff MTech is known for.

At least he knows how to use a space bar.

You think I am mad? I was actually having fun trying to figure this out. It seems to me that you must be the one who gets emotionally invested in internet forums or where else would you get the belief that other people do.

Fact is if you knew how google worked you would know that depending on what country you are in and sometimes even different regions of one country people can get different results.

Also I was looking for knives with the same pivot as on the Kershaw injection. The knives SteelJunkee SteelJunkee found do not have the same pivot as the Kershaw Injection. Kershaw Injection pivot has 6 divots around the torx drive and the mtechs have 5. Also the Kershaw pivot has a much wider circumference to the head of the screw.

I presume those are the knives you are talking about, the Marines one and the one that looks like the Lifter.

Well look again at the Mtech then the lifter. If mtech was making the lifter then presumably they would make it exactly the same as the kershaw and just put the mtech logo on it. The knives look similar but upon closer inspection you will notice several small differences one of which is that the kershaw has 3 body screws per side and the mtech two.

What you have here is not mtech producing the kershaw lifter and then slapping their own logo on it; what you have is a clone of a Kershaw lifter.

It is important to look at the little details when comparing these things. Do you think that Navy is making the Spyderco Endura and Delica? Maybe Spyderco is fooling us that they are made in Japan and really Navy is making them and just rebranding them as Spyderco. Maybe Sanrenmu is actually making the Sebenza for Chris Reeve!?

No of course not. Upon closer examination these companies are making CLONES of these iconic knives and it appears that is what we see here. Not to mention they aren’t even using the same pivot.

Since you neglected to google the image of the Kershaw Injection here is a picture of it. Compare the pivot with the Mtechs SteelJunkee posted above.

And so, woops... you jumped the gun and made a mistake. No need to get mad about it and project that anger onto others.

Are they getting their steel from scrap transport trucks from Chernobyl or something? lol

Lol that’s too funny. It probably has glow in the dark paint on it somewhere.

Petunia D. Feeble Petunia D. Feeble look closer at the minor differences between the mtech example and the Kershaw lifter. If Mtech was making the lifter they would just rebrand it. What that mtech is, is a clone. Compare some minor differences we would not see if it was a rebrand. Like 3 body screws on kershaw vs 2 on mtech. Also some milling differences in the scale.

Here’s the lifter to compare.

Oh and btw as anyone who has handles a Kershaw Injection will know the quality is outstanding for the price and far exceeds an Mtech.

Even better. I just glanced at them.

Ok F Frotier76 I am a logical person. You claim Master Cutlery is producing Kershaw imports. Being the one making the claim, the burden of proof is on you.

You offer the following as evidence:
They use the same pivot screw...
* This claim is easily debunked. The Injection you reference has a 6 dot pattern with crisp lines of definition. Mtech has only 5 dots, and much less definition, as in clearly visible that it's of a lower standard.

This very knife is available on one of the big chinese retail sites. The only change is the mtech logo. So this is in the same category as TwoSun and the other fleeting chinese brands. It's just doubled in price and rebranded with a LESS trusted name.

Ah. That's not surprising. Although with Master cutlery technically being a US company, perhaps there will actually be some product support / warranty that didn't come with buying from one of those Chinese sites. I guess time will tell.

If you are having trouble telling the difference from the front of the knife maybe the back will be more obvious?

Just look how much nicer the clip and the frame lock is on the Kershaw. It's kinda sad that when you're a famous company like Kershaw that even when you make a knife for only $30, someone will try to rip you off with a bogus copy.
