i have the TC Venture in 300 win mag and i love it, amazing round and a good lookin gun but i want to know what you guys think is the best looking platform out there for the 300. im diggin the new Savage, id love to shoot one anybody had the chance yet?

Havent shot one but ive heard real good things about, little pricey to shoot arent they?

I saw a feild and stream test for the.300win mag and browning A bolt and weatherby vanguard were the most accurate on paper targets. Sportsman channel rated your Thompson Center best platform for interchangeable calibers. I love my savage. It was cheap, accurate and came already scoped and zeroed in.no complaints from me here on it.

My favorite is the Sako TRG 42 from Finland. You have a 7 rd detachable mag, and incredible quality throughout. Its my only 300 WM and the only one I need :) Looking to have it duracoated in multicam

My Steyr Mannlicher with Schmidt & Bender scope is a sexy beast!
It's an old picture that does not do it justice.

The new Savage platform looks cool. But in my opinion there is nothing better than a heavy barrel Remington 700. The sendero is my personal choice and have never found myself wanting another 300wm as mine has done everything I have ever set out to do.

My main hunting rifle (till a couple of years ago) from 1983 was a Weatehrby Vanguard in .300Win I love the round and that rifle. The only reson it gets a bit less use is that the my Sako AII custom in .308 is well suited to much of my deer and hog hunting. if I am out in the big open country or chasing samber the .300 is out with me. I hunted averything from rabbits to Asiatic Buffalo with mine an never felt out of place.

I have this guy- Model 70 .300 win mag Rock Mountain Elk Commemorative Edition. The stock is some of the best walnut Ive ever seen.

KalEl,
That stock is beautiful. Did the gun come with that stock or did you add it later?

Its the stock that came with it. When it arrived at the dealer's he thought he had ordered the wrong model because the wood was so fantastic!

300 win mag is about the perfect big game round up to and including bear. Perfect hunting 300 is a model 70 classic in a mcmillian stock. Perfect shooting 300 is a GAP rock. I own neither, but a man can dream.

I love the Model 70. Wish I had a left handed one. 300 Win Mag is a sweet round, if a person can shoot it well they are set for anything on this side of the pond.

I love that round. My boss's son let me use his Robar in 300 Win mag. I shot a huge feral boar with it and it just knocked him to the ground like he had been electrocuted.

+1 for the Sendero

It would be a tie between this and the R93.

Nice sticks.... I would vote for the DTA SRS as you can switch barrels from .243 up to .338 LM. My .300 wm lives in a modified mcmillan stock done by AWC (M94 Outlander).
