.300 win. mag.

I'm a fan of the Winchester 70 and then the Remington 700
Kimber and Cooper are up there too.

....everything is dangerous in Australia...... ;)

I can not imagine the rabbit that would require a 300 wm to bring down. I do know that up until now I have never really been scared of a rabbit but I guess I have never been face to face with the Aussie variety.

Yep... you nailed it.... the NMFBM of mine you have there is my last ditch fall back if a particularly nasty bunny survives the hail of .30cal and I have to go "blade to fur" with it ..... ;)

Anyone ever seen the movie Night of the Lepus?
Rabbits as big as a truck.Must have been the Aussie strain of rabbit in that movie!

I just picked up a .338 Winchester barrel that will run on my LMT MWS and use the same 20 round .308 P mags, I'm really digging this rifle system.
Just add my Thor 320 and look out wild hogs...at NIGHT !! ;)

i had a remington 700 the action sucked on my 300 mag,but was awesome on my 30-06..my oldman gave me his winchester deluxe sporter 300 mag an this thing is sweet, action is smooth, all around great gun..

How does the .300 WSM compare to the win mag? I've been considering an X bolt in WSM.
The 300win mag has a little more case capacity. The 300 WSM is very close with 180 and under bullets. When you go over around 180ish the 300 gains a very slight advantage, but if your not hand loading heavy bullets it doesn't matter. I like the accuracy of the 300 short mag(the win mag is no slouch). I read that one of the bog companies switched from a 308 and a 300 win mag to just a 300 WSM for all .30 cal bullet testing. Get the x bolt. They are awesome rifles.

I love the Model 70. Wish I had a left handed one. 300 Win Mag is a sweet round, if a person can shoot it well they are set for anything on this side of the pond.

They are out there.

I owned a lefty M70 7 mm mag for a couple of years.

The Winchester acquisition has driven up prices.
