So I'm looking for something new. Like the title says, I want to spend no more than $300 out the door. Less if possible. My recent pick ups have been second PM2 and a ZT 0560. I do NOT want anything small, I'm a big guy at 6'4 310lbs, small knives get lost in my hands. I've really been looking at the Microtech Selct Fire, they look amazing!! Any thoughts on that knife or any other knife would be helpfull. This is just something to EDC and play around with, I don't have a specific need for it, I just want a new knife. Thank guys!!

I also prefer 3.5-4" blades, some of my current favorites besides the two you already listed:
Spyderco Manix 2 XL
BM 810
Spyderco Military
ZT 200
BM 275
BM 710
Spyderco Gayle Bradley

Here's several of the above mentioned together with the ZT 560 for size comparison...

Thank you for the pics for size comparison. I've always wanted a Gayle Bradley as well, but it always seems to skip my mind when I buy a new knife. Can the Select Fire and Gayle Bradley even be compared??

If you want a Select Fire, you should get one quick I think they are being discontinued hope you find a good knife. :)

I'd go for the selectfire, or take a look at protech's offerings. Namely the TR3:

I had a similar knife and budget in mind, but ended up stumbling on a 0550 before I ordered the protech. Great design, very well built, Ti framelock that is just aggressive looking enough I think

The Select Fire is supposedly being replaced by an official Strider collaboration. I've seen this lately, but I don't know if it's a current prototype or old news:

Can't say I like the LOOK over the SF, but it is something to think about.

I've seen that around the web over the last couple days. I can't say I really care for it that much. I really hope that's not what they replace the Select Fire with...

I like the look of that knife. I'm not sure what I'm looking for, but that knife just isn't screaming, "buy me!". For a $300 price point, it's gotta make me want to buy it. The 0560 I own is my most expensive knife, so $300 still seems like a lot for me to spend on my knife habit!

I would have to suggest a ZT 300. That is just a very well built, and very gorgeous knife. This will also be my next purchase. Good Luck!

Get 100 more and go Reeve.... You won't regret it... That's just my Reccomendation...

If you want something huge... and my current EDC... Extreme Ratio BF3.... big, solid, bad assssss.....

Never really been attracted to the 0300 for some reason. The only ZT I was really drawn to was the 0560, and I finally picked one up month or so ago, and I live that thing!!! The 0550 is really nice to, but I fear it's just a tad to small...

Holy CRAP, that thing is Enormous! Hahahaha I like big knives, but that one is to big.

You've got a Benchmade 710 already, right? ;)

If so, you could try something far less expensive than what your budget allows... like say around $20-30ish--the Case Sod Buster. Seriously, it's an excellent knife and one of the most comfortable folders I own...

For scale: full-sized Case Sod Buster next to a BK-2.

I would say the ZT 0550, it's a large knife that fits large hands like a glove. I miss mine a lot.
Spyderco Military is a nice large knife.

Also, it's a lot of money but have you considered saving a little more and picking up a Chris Reeve Large Sebenza or Unnumzaan? My Sebenza is hands down my favorite. It's just an excellent knife.

Or you could save even a little more and try a Hinderer XM-18 3.5 or Hinderer XM-24.

Though I know it's super hard to save up for a certain one, when there are so many others out there that are amazing lol.

The Tuff is pretty cool

But the Laci Szabo Folder is going to be hot too.

I'll second the spyderco Tuff! It's a large knife but carries well and has plenty of real estate for gripping. It seems like you are into hard use folders and the Tuff is right at the top of that category.

The Benchmade Adamas is also worth looking at for your large hands.
