$300....

yeah, the adamas does look like it's a tank.

maybe we can get someone in here to post a pic of the spyderco tuff next to the benchmade adamas?

That's an awesome idea!!! Yes please share your pictures if you have them. That would be a HUGE help!!

kershaw uses it in most of their knives.

here is a link to the steel manufaturer's website: http://www.smt.sandvik.com/en/produ...fe-steel/sandvik-knife-steels/sandvik-14c28n/

a forum member named ankerson was nice enough to test a bunch of steels cutting through manila rope. here is his testing thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...based-on-Edge-Retention-cutting-5-8-quot-rope . 14c28n is in category 6 which is shared with 154CM hardened to 61HRC, and fits in between category 7 which has S30V at 58.5HRC and category 5 which has S30V at 60HRC. this should make it a good general knife knife steel.

i have experience with a pretty good selection of steels, unfortunately 14c28n isn't one of them.

Damn dude, thank you again!! You've been a huge help, it's greatly appreciated! Feel free to throw any other knife ideas my way. Per your recommendation, I just ordered a Lansky system with a sapphire stone added in.
