31 hours in the hospital

Good News Mac!!!

I'm glad you got things taken care of, so that you can feel better.
Great way to start the new year!!

I known of a friend who was given back his gall stones but none seem to get the container they came in back ...maybe something to do with container recycling? ;)

Okay, they put me in a girdle again after the surgery, and I finally took it off yesterday so I could shower. In addition to the two scars from my hernia repair, I was able to count at least four more wounds, including a relatively large one (2") smack in the center of my ample abdomen, about midway between my belly button and the bottom of my sternum.:confused::eek:

Everyone else I know who has had their gall bladder out just had a couple of small incisions from the laproscopic procedure. I wonder if removing the lingering fluid from my hernia site required additional exploratory drilling? :p

Anyway, I see the Doc again on the 20th, but I'm going to call in hopes that I can dicth the girdle before then. (BTW- the professional, clinical, and far more manly term is "binder" not girdle-which may explain my constipation.) :o

I'm doing well. I'm only taking the pain meds before bed now and hope to be off them altogether in the next couple of days.

Thanks for the support and encouragement, gang. Ya'll are the best. :)

It will be good to get rid of the binder, the binding, and the med's and then life will get back to its regular and normal self. ;)

DOH! :o:foot::p I finally figured out that all of the extra holes (official count- 5 new ones) were because of my hernia patch. They couldn't go through it, so they had to go around it. Route recon to extraction! :D I hope this also accounts for my slightly-more-than-average discomfort for a gall bladder removal. Maybe I'm not quite as wimpy as I thought. ;)

I've got two more days of antibiotic left, and I think I'll skip the pain meds from here on out. I had been taking the leftovers from my last surgery (the initial hernia repair), and still have a few left. I haven't touched the scrip for this surgery yet. I think I'll save them for my first week or two back to work. ouch.:(:o

Glad you got it taken care of...hopefully, once and for all.

A shame about the mineral rights...but...healthcare today...whaddaya gonna do?

Don't suffer in your attempt to get off pain meds. Pain is not therapeutic.

wacherass.

A bad gall bladder sorta feels like someone shoving a rough wood pole through you.
