334 Camillus / Buck Trapper

I ran my weed-eater yesterday and today while cleaning under my finger nails w/ my 334, I noticed it was not getting the grit out. So, I thought I should tune it up. I took it to my early Norton fine India and with just a few strokes of back honing it was much better. I removed
the burr on the stone with all but a small portion near the tip. This I took to a leather strop. A few light strokes and that was gone. Now, it
cleans under my finger nails very aggressive. Employing a back honing method removes a third of the metal that edge leading does. Try it and
see if you like it. DM

David ,I always enjoy your post. Yes we got 4 1/2" of rain this weekend. Just got back from San Diego last night so was not sure what we got .
Flew over your part of N.M. on the way home. I thought I had a sales flier from SMK that had a Buck 334 in it but could not find it. Sharp looking Knife.

Hawk, keep looking for it as I would like to see the photo and sales ad. It's historical.
Thank you, DM

O.K. David it was not a 334 it was a R1128 Trapper in 440c. The Remington Bullet knife .
it was on the back cover of the May 2018 SMK cat. I got in the mail back in May.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
But it looks close to it.

Thanks, Ged. Agreed. Do you utilize the lanyard hole? I have thought about it and if in a canoe or boat on the water, I would attach a long lanyard to it.
Which would allow me to still pull the knife out and use it and no matter if I dropped it. It would still be attached to me. Otherwise, that baby's
going to the bottom. DM

I definitely use a lanyard on my 317's when canoeing or wilderness hiking/camping/hunting etc.

Ok, good. This is what I was wanting feed back on. I find a lanyard hole very useful and other gents send theirs out to have one installed.
So, there must be others who find them useful. DM

Here's a 110. These are in pounds on a certified scale. .444 = 7.1 oz.
DM .370 = 5.9 oz.

Remington's Bullet knives were a series. Some smaller, some the same size as Buck's 334. I have eyeballed one at a Gun Show for the last 2
shows. I thought hard on buying it. But no box or papers and I thought I would not find a 334 Trapper. My patience paid off. I looked up the mfg. date on the Remington Bullet knife and it is a year or two earlier than mine. It is a Camillus
made model. I don't think many other cutlery companies made this pattern.
Queens may be making the Moore Maker Trapper. DM

Hawk, you're welcome. This show is coming up in 3 weeks so I think I'll look this vendor up and if he still has this Rem. Trapper I'll make a photo of it and post it here. To show another Camillus made Trapper. DM

Sir you doing a buck display, sharpening, the Misses wares, etc "show time" at that show?

Hawk, I found you a topic that shows a bunch of photos of Remington Bullet knives. It even shows the 2 bladed Trapper like the 334 on pg. 2, post 30, 33 and on through it. DM
