3M Breathe Easy Respirator

It's been a long time since I've visted Bladeforums (I haven't done much at all with knives for the past few years).

I came across this thread while searching for filters for a 3M Breathe Easy setup.

By coincidence, the fellow who sold silver_pilate his unitl via ebay, also put them on Craigslist here in NJ.

He had two of them, and I took the unit with the large size facemask (so I guess Silver_Pilate got the medium)

The only downside is that this unit has a NiCd battery and charger instead of the more recent NiMH versions.

Silver_pilot got a great deal, but I'm smilng because he accepted $275 from me in cash. So it was an offer I couldn't pass up!

I already have a Trend Airshield Pro for woodturning, and wanted this rig for my wife, in the event that she has to work with fine dust and the option to put in chemical filters for finish spraying.

I'm likely going to order the high efficiency filters (3 filters in the pack) from this vendor

Does anyone have experience with Masks N More?

I'm also ordered the face mask with the black helmet/faceshield piece mentioned in the first post. Did you get that on ebay, and if so, did it arrive ok and was the correct item?

Alan, I sure did. Probably from the same guy you got your helmet from :D. It arrived promptly (not too far from Houston to Lubbock) and was in great shape and brand new in the plastic with the visor protector still on. Fits good...I think it's going to work great. I did go ahead and pick up the correct hose as well.

Does the helmet require a different hose than the full face mask that was in our packaging?
If so, where did you order one from? Is it part #526-01-13R01?

Have you decided on a set of filters? I haven't ordered anything yet. I'm tossing up between the high efficiency and the organic (would handle lacquers, etc.)

I got the hose and my filters from Envirosafetyproducts.com. I went ahead and ordered the tube you mentioned. I don't think that the included tube will work as it is specifically designed to screw into the face mask while the helmet is set up for clamping on. I ordered the organic and HE stack filters.

what about 6200 series? is the only that i can find at nice price in argentina. From which seller you purchase that kit? maybe i can try to purchase it from USA directly!
 
That must be a really nice knife you are trading for the Martin. Even the low end Martins go for around $900 (a low end martin sounds better than most high end acoustics). Nice trade!
