It's the one on the left

Loose rocks huh, I thought you might have been one of those guys that were looking for the Marijuana in the hills and got lost, then dehydrated and had to be flown out!

I was the one who stubbed his thumb with a falling rock.

Dude; I hope you didn't damage the rock  ?!!

See you Friday night?

The rock was lost, a casualty of Gravity.. We should definitely have a brew or two to the lost and fallen comrade.

Meeting at Walking Man about 1800hrs?

Rescue Mike,
I drove buy the fun at Dog Creek. It looked like most of the rescue vehicles in SW Washington were there. Glade all came out ok. Hope to see everyone Friday (maybe) and Saturday (for sure).

Ooo... My Precious got back from the shop; just in time for the Mischief!!!
A HUGE thanks to Garth and the good folks at the shop for upgrading the Jack slabs to Magnum - Wow  !!

Dunner's also sporting new Mags on some of his Infi... Very Nice  !

Oh, and... Directions:
Meet at the EOC, Noon(ish), on Saturday, Aug. 18th.

The Great NW Rat Mischief will be above a gravel pit off the 6701 Rd.
45* 56.351 N, 121* 51.967 W, NAD 83

From SR 14 (approx Milepost 47) follow Wind River Hwy (30 Rd) north and continue through Carson, there is a temporary construction traffic light as you cross the “Conrad Lundy Bridge.”

Right before Milepost 6 on the Wind River Hwy, you will see a sign directing you to "Panther Creek." Take a right onto this road and then an immediate left onto Panther Creek Road (65 Rd).

Follow the 65 road, through “4 Corners” at about Milepost 10. Stay on the 65 Rd north, until Milepost 12, where the pavement ends and the 67 Rd splits off to the left (west). Follow the 67 Rd about a mile and turn right on the 6701 Rd. Less than a mile up the 6701, a gravel pit will be on the left, as you go past it, and up around a corner to the left is a spur road to the left. This is a fairly rough road that will quickly take you to where the NW Mischief will be based.

From the north, take Hwy 12 either east off I-5, or west out of Yakima, to Randle.

From Randle, dump down the 25 Rd., past Mount St. Helens, to the 90 Rd.
Take a left on the 90 Rd. (east), to Curly Creek Rd. (I think its the 51 or 52 Rd.),
Take that right hand turn, and go up the hill to the 30 Rd. (Wind River Hwy).
Go north (left) on the 30 Rd. to Rush Creek Rd. (6507 Rd.) on the right.
Follow the 6507 Rd. up to Panther Creek Rd. (65 Rd.), take a right (south) and go about 6 miles to the 67 Rd.

Other than food, and your beverage-of-choice :D, I'd recommend lawn chairs, and a helmet or hardhat for the cave (& lots of lights)…

Ham radio: 146.58
FRS: Channel 4
No cell service
No water (bring plenty)
Nearest bathroom about 8 miles (plenty of trees though!)
No electricity
Not even adult supervision…

Should be a hoot !!

Rescue Mike,
I had a feeling we lived near each other. I have lived here (Vancouver area) on and off since 1958. Place sure has changed. Are you West or East of I5. I live near Salmon Creek School. Do you work for the Fire Department? I am an engineer and one of my recent projects is the new Ridgefield No. 1 station.

Just got a call from Rescue Mike. He is moabing out for a wildland fire as we speak. He asked me to let every one know he will be unable to attend friday's and saturday's festivities.

Which brings me to a possible problem. The SAR team I belong to is taking part in the Skamania Parade on Saturday. My plan was to carpool with Mike for both events. According to River 8s directions the road is fairly rough. Due to long and unfortante string of events I no longer own a vehicle with ground clearance. Does anybody know if a Honda Accord can make it to the event site?

James 61,

You should be able to make it; its all in the attitude :D !!

Cheers,

p/s
Beer, 1800 (earlier?) tonight?!!

Yet again, I have to sit this one out.:grumpy: We just moved and I am waiting to start yet another job. I'm going out and marking my new territory with my BATLE.:p:D
I hope you guys have a blast, and I want to try to get together with some INFIdels up here (Puget Sound) sometime in the near future.

James 61,
I live near Mike and I will be at the EOC Saturday morning (Noonish) and if you wanted to ride from there to the site with me after the parade I have a quad cab 4x4 Toyota. I will be at the pub Friday night or contact me here or just meet me at the EOC.
Ron Athay.

Skunk,
Stevenson is about 30 minutes from the Troutdale Airport. The "site" is about about another 30 minutes past Stevenson.
