As an owner of one of the first batch of these, the thing that amazes me about them is how perfectly the scale and tang edges match each other because there is no sanding, both are straight off the cnc. It's a beautiful demonstration of Nathan's skill as a CNC jockey.

If in wood, that quality would be lost as even Ironwood would shrink after shipping from his home to dry, dry, dry Utah.

So I'm guessing the answer is 'no'.

I have a 6" knife of his in stabilized redwood burl, which I have had zero problems with.

^ Yeah, a wood scale gets laminated to a G10 liner which helps address that issue. Most are then bonded to the tang as well which helps prevent distortion.

None of this is ever perfect, of course. But I try.
