3VMandu? . . . Swamp Rat Has It Coming Your Way This Friday, May 26, 2023, At 9:00 PM Eastern!

I think it will come. The Ratmandu is the knife that should always be available on the site. It's what got me started and I have a huge amount of variants INFI, Swats etc and still one of my favourite knives
Sounds like a man with the same addiction as me. I’m afraid to count how many ‘mandus I’ve gotten over the years.
How does the 3v compare to infi?
Based on my experience, not as good in any way. Considering all the… hype … that seems to be all over the internet about 3V, I’ve been thoroughly unimpressed by it. This is probably the FIRST ‘mandu of any ilk that I may not order. I mean, it will still be better than 99.9% of the knives out there. But considering I have many examples in INFI and SR101, I’m not feeling this one.

If you don’t have a Ratmandu, buy this. If you have an SR101 ‘mandu, but not an INFI ‘mandu, buy this. If you have any version of an INFI ‘mandu? … Meh?

I may buy it… but not for 3V. If I buy it, it will be because I can’t resist any ‘mandu version. I’m just a total sucker for the design. It’s that good.

Have you tried Busse's 3v? Cuz its pretty sweet. Its still harder to sharpen than infi. But its on par for corrosion resistance. It seems to have better edge stability than infi. And though it may not be quite as tough its way tougher than you'll probably ever need. So unless youre looking for ease of sharpening or absolute toughness its awesome.

I haven't tried SR-3V. And won't, unless it comes up in a knife that I like the design of, and don't have over a dozen of them.
Better edge stability is good, I suppose. But I've never had a problem with INFI's edge stability, so it isn't worth buying just for that. I've never had INFI corrode (as long as it isn't one I stripped myself, and didn't get all the carb off). I've never had a problem sharpening any knife, except 420J (for probably obvious reason there).

I'm sure SR-3V is fantastic, and wouldn't argue it is better than SR-101, if only for the care-free corrosion resistance. But I'm going to wait until it is used in a knife design that I want to buy for the design. I'm pretty much done buying purely for steel.

It took me 20 years to figure that out. I'm a slow learner.

Agree about the buying part... I only have a TGULB now and think its gonna be that way for a while. Only buy things I need
