I have been wanting a bigger traditional for awhile. I am liking the big barlows and some of AGR's offerings. Single blade to a king size stockman :D I just want to see some big knives. If you care to share how you pocket or sheath them I dont think any would complain

Good thread Jeff:thumbup: here is one of my recent acquisitions and it quickly has become a "Back Pocket" favorite:cool:

Case 1977 #6375 @ 4 1/4 closed.

Another one of my obscure favorite are the Swinguards, I love em for "Back Pocket" carry:thumbup: At 4 3/8 closed they disappear next to my wallet;)

I have more but will have to look back in some older pic's.

Thanks Paul, that #6375 is a beauty. I have been eyeing a similar model with a 1979 vintage. Has CASE ever made a stockman over 41/4? just curious.

The #6375 is listed in some older Case literature as 4 5/16". Thats is the only reference I have seen to a Stockman over 4 1/4".

Never been one for larger knives. I have only owned two traditionals that meet your specs. I bought a Queen Mountain Man because of the ACSB, but it was just too large for me, so I sold it two weeks later.

I did keep the other, a primitive bone Northfield Ben Hogan, for over six months, but rarely carried it. Here is a shot of it with my more usual pocket pal, the peanut.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of smaller knives. I just got a huckleberry boys knife, but I'm kinda wishing, I had just gotten a moose, just because of the size.

This is the only one that I have a picture of at the moment and the biggest: A zulu spear back pocket made by Kerry Hampton. I forget the measurements, but it's around 4.75" closed.

Everyone has a preference. I love CARRYING a 3 1/2" knife but I love to USE a 4" or bigger knife. I am starting to think BOTH is the correct answer :D

Thats what im talking about JAlexander. Did you make the sheath? Thats a great back pocket organizer, I like it a lot.

James, What a great set up!!!

Here's a Northwoods Scagel. Closed length is 4.75"

There's a serious amount of steel in the blade. The spine is thicker than the one found on my Pekka Tuominen puukko.

Did you do that leather work James? It is very nice, reminds me of a magazine/flashlight holder.

Man thats nice. Scagel is starting to pique my interest. Thats a thick blade for a slippie, how is it in use Christian?

I don't know as I haven't used it yet. I wouldn't try quartering any apples though, the blade is as likely to split the fruit as it is to cut it.

My first GEC was a #23. At 4.5" it's big, but rides just fine next to my wallet.

I have a few Queens that meet the 4.25" frame length. I'll try to get a pic or two.
