I would say the 4.5 is a must well before an 8 with that inventory. also I can't imagine the cutoff being sooner than the beginning of June but I am not s!k so I don't know for sure.
My plan is to also order the 4.5 bushcrafter... and perhaps forgo the gso 8.. sound right? would the 8 really be necessary for the list above?
Are you a fan of the choil, a collector, or looking at the 8 for a user?
I collect them to use.. a user..
I just ordered a 4.5. Not gonna miss this one. It will be a trout filleting laser beam.
The 4.5 is the thinnest Survive blade that I know of and it should be the best slicer for that reason.Just curious - why might someone go for this over the GSO 4.7 or the 4.1? I'm wondering what purpose you have in mind that the others might not do too well. (Not simply looking to round out your collection... which is a great reason in and of itself).
If you could only pick one blade from the S!K lineup in the 4 1/2" range (+/-) - why the bushcrafter?
Thanks,
TR

I think this thinner knife will be better for detailed wood working maybe similar to a scandi ground blade and also better for food prep. Even my dainty and razor sharp 3.5 would act like a wedge when cutting things like apples or onions. Also, if someone plans to carry an ax or saw this knife would be lighter and excel at fine cutting and "knife stuff" while the bigger tool fills it's own role.
