4.5 Buschraft Preorder Cutoff date???

just go with camo g10 and dark earth sheath, its what i did. and now that you mention it, why arent these shipping out by now? i know ordering hasnt closed and all but i paid for mine ages ago and i didnt sign up for waiting despite specifically knowing i would have to wait. this is just ludicris, maybe they should hire more people and stop breaking their machines. also, i want a hat.

I'm asking those who have had GSOs with linen handle scales, whether a linen set of scales would be a good option for a sleek design like the 4.5 Bushcraft? I wanna throw some $$$ at this sexy knife model.

I have green linen scales on my 5.1 , very nice smooth feel , very nice looking , but honestly almost too smooth , I prefer the canvas on my 4.1 . My 2 cents

The extra smoothness is what I am concerned about. I think that extra grippiness is prudent on a GSO BC knife which is going to cut like laser beam. But darn it, I like that red linen too and I wonder if micro texturing will also be applied to the linen scales.

I don't think Ellie ever got back to me so I will have to ask her again when she's in a better mood with us on here!

I usually go with green canvas, but for this model I decided to go with black linen and screws. I've had linen for my necker and 3.5 too, I just think canvas looks better most of the time.

I guess Tyler is the biggest town around me. I live in Redland just west of Tyler. You guys got beautiful country side there. The water is so much nicer then here, all that limestone helps I'm sure.

Linen to me is that great look and feel when dry, and yet has the great grippyness when wet. I switched my 7/7 from g10 to linen. I couldn't help it the bone linen just looked so good!

I thought the micro texture was going to be on all the G-10 handles. Best of both world?

OK then. I am getting warmer on Red linen with black fasteners and a black sheath. That is the option I originally was shooting for when I was contemplating a GSO 10, but since the GSO 10 is no longer on my immediate wish list (will reconsider down the road if it ever makes it to a Monday Sale or a deal on the Exchange) I would most probably go with this option on the 4.5 BC. My second choice would be in Camo G10 and Green sheath.

I've spent plenty of time in east Texas. I like it. Our water is really nice when it's not flooding...!

Can't wait for this model to come out. It'll be cool to see what some of our bushcrafty forum members can do with it. I'm just learning.

I have green linen on my 5.1. I also have Orange G10. I havent ever had a problem with them being slippery. Inthink the linen feels great in the hand. I think you guys are over thinking it. None of the handles are polished. This is one of the reasons that Guy males his handles removeable. Get what you think will look good and if its too slippery get a different set!

After selling my other GSO 5.1 (3V) on the Exchange, I put the $$$ where my mouth is and just preordered the coveted GSO 4.5 BC in 3V (the only choice available), Red Linen handle scales, Black Fasteners and a Black Kydex sheath (no ferro notch and no bow drill divot). For those who like to keep up with the order numbers, this one shows as # 9417.

For some perspective, when Survive! ran that 48 hours special window on the GSO 4.1, I recall something like 400 additional increases in the order numbers tally within that short window. Going by my own last order # 9265 (a preorder of a GSO 6.0 F-1st on 5/11), this is just under 150 orders net orders in about 24 days or so! This is a bit weak because I think that some of these numbers came from the last Monday's sale. The slack needs to be picked up by the prospective buyers as this is not entirely on Survive!

Well keep in mind a couple Monday's went by with nothing for sale. Not many orders are coming in right now for supplies I'm sure. Once the saws go live and the 4.7 supplies are added, there should be a big jump. Maybe a small jump when they announce the closing of the 4.5 BC window.

And yes I have one on order. I think it's Jade and tumbled with black sheath. I can't remember now.

All correct. Right now, you can't even order extra handle scales and fasteners for the GSO 5.1. I am sure that all these have contributed to the slow down. Once a preorder is announced as being on its last call, things will hopefully pick up.
