Dang Mad Mike...Yvsa was just convincing me that I needed that Berk! You are gonna *love * those tools!!! Good grab!
Thanks Nasty...sorry if I stole it from you :( . I've been wanting one for a quite some time and I couldn't pass it up for that price  !

i wonder if you could remake the handle, moving everything forward so it encompassed the cho creep area so that it would be full tang instead of partial...

also wonder if it would be stable enough for hard use after the mod....
I was wondering the same thing about the one I have. I noticed the cho creep on the one up top, looks longer than mine does. The handle looks a little longer on mine also.

If I knew how to work on handles, I would love to try exactly what you are talking about SethMurdoc, so the Berk could be used harder.

Maybe someday someone will start another shop for handle making, specializing in khuks and I can try that with mine.

Don't worry about it Mike...it found who it was intended for! Enjoy!!!

I *do* however, reserve the right to visit it the next time I'm at Hill AFB... ;-) We'll get together for dinner maybe? I'll bring a favorite or two...

I just realized that you're only about ten miles from a place I often go to when I'm there...geez! Small world!

As long as you guys are talking about making a full tang out of a partial, why not detach the handle and weld more steel on? The broken tangs in the past have been welded- why not this?

Then you wouldnt have a shorter blade, nor change the overall balance, shape and look.

you could pole-arm it  :D

seriously though, good idea. i really wish our community college hadnt been hit so hard by state cuts (california)... pretty much every industrial class has been removed, including welding 101 (wich is one of 4 cut classes i wanted to take this summer).

i like the looks of that chaindadi.
it looks like a fighter to me.
course, a lot of stuff looks like a fighter to me.
it might be great for BBQ too

Plus, with their continuing trend to tiny, the karda might be big enough for a fine pickle sticker...

Rather than adding steel, maybe just take the handle off and fill it with acraglas. I don't think I'd be afraid of it coming off if you did that.

I like the looks of that Bhojpure, but wonder how it is difft from a WW2?
Is the blade wider at the end? Doesn't exactly look like the traditional Bhojpure's I have seen, but I like it.

Hollow

Is this based upon finding some khuks with empty space in the handle not filled with Laha? And if so, if the handle were filled with laha, would that be acceptable- ie- don't bother fixing it if it aint broke?

I have a Hanuman and these questions are of interest. I just figured if the handle ever started to wiggle I'd consider options.

No. Just based on how hard that Acraglass sets up. I'd be real surprised if it would shake loose inside. I'm not familiar with the properties of the laha enough to know if it is as strong. But yeah, why fix it if it isn't broke?

I'm probably more than ten miles from Hill. But give me a "heads up" and we'll see what we cn do. Heber and I have been trying to "hook up" for the last year or so and it doesn't seem to work out.(Always seems that things are interfering on my end. :( )

Ahh...but you're about 10 miles from the Barbary Coast...

I've pretty much always lived like there may be no tomorrow...and think you have too. ;-)
