4 Inch + folder?

my fav large folder is the G10 Police....alotta blade packed in a slim package

CRKT Otanashi Noh Ken, Viper Knives Start or Rhino, HTM Mad Maxx, Fox Col Moschin, Spyderco Szabo, Sog Spec Elite 2, and Fox/Citadel Deimos. The Deimos would be my personal choice, it's honestly pretty light for what you get, decent steel, very comfortable handle and very good blade-to-ratio. It's also relatively inexpensive.

I have all of the Fox & Viper Knives mentioned. All use the venerable N690 steel which is very popular in Europe and like VG10, 154CM and ATS34.

Viper Knives are less expensive but some have fit and finish issues so check it out closely when received. Also, Start and Rhino are back locks.

All my Fox Knives have no issues and they are mostly liner locks. The Col. Moschin Delta Special Operations comes in two sizes and you want the one with a 4.2" blade and earth G10 handles. Only comes with partial serrations and has the Emerson Wave opening feature. The Citadel Deimos comes with wood or micarta handles and it's a big 4.5" blade. Very smooth, secondary lock and can open with hole (like Spyderco but oval) or flip with wrist-assist. Very comfortable and value priced at ExtremAddiction.

Cold Steel is most known for their oversize knives. I have the Microtech Socom Elite and love it and also the ZT 0561 which I love too.

The SOCOM Elites are discontinued but if you find one on the secondary market, they are absolutely worth the money. I miss mine a lot.

Are you sure theyre discontinued? A great number of dealers have them in stock in s35vn. The one I want was in 20cv and it is discontinued.

You can find the tanto models especially with combo edges and clip point combo edge blades but not the best variants, the plain edge clip points. Those are long gone and prices are going up on them. The ones that are left at dealers are the ones people don't really like. A lot of those tanto models are also chisel ground which most people are grossed out by. For what it's worth, a year ago Blade HQ customer service each told me they didn't expect anymore, and Microtech CS said they are no longer being made and do not expect to make more. The SOCOM Delta has effectively replaced it. I'm hoping to snag a custom SOCOM Delta with the tri-tone blade finish someday to replace my Elite.

It maybe because their machinist left and started guardian tactical knives, there's a good looking 4" folder

Seriously, 4" plus is the only way to go. Check my YouTube channel to see some reviews of big motherducking folders.

Grab a CRKT Eraser before they're gone (recently disco'd). Just got one and it's one of the best flippers I've ever handled.

OP has to give us a budget else I can only go off of the knives he's considering. That being said check out the Super CQC-7. The knife offers allot, a great grip in multiple holds, quickest and easiest knife to sharpen I own, fast wave deployment, excellent warranty, outstanding customer service, made in America (maybe you don't care being a Canadian), simple, refined, and reliable deployment and lock up, excellent steel and HRC for hard use; the blade tends to fold not chip.

Spyderco Military and Manix are the two folders I enjoy using and carrying. Normally I have either of these in a belt sheath looped on my belt.

To anyone who's still wondering, budget is around $200-300~. Though that doesn't exclude benchmade's or spyderco's which are $150-180.

My two biggest have already been mentioned, but they can never get too much press; Spyderco Szabo and Fox/Citadel Deimos. The Deimos has been my right front pocket carry since the middle of December. I've had both the wood handled version, and now the micarta handles, and can say I like the micarta better......just wish they offered a satin finish blade with micarta handles.
