Stay away from this forum, especially the exchange, unless your rich or just don't like to have much money in your bank account between paychecks.......
Well, I suppose I could add a bit of sage advice, even though I am new.
~ If you have a grail knife you better have saved for it. You never know when it may show up.
Don't skimp out on your sharpening products. Sometimes blades won't sharpen because the edge needs to be reprofiled. Nothing reprofiles better than DMT or diamond rods/hones. Pick up a guided DMT or system with diamond itbmakws sharpening and reprofiling a lot easier.
Sometimes you pick up a knife that you thought would be for you and you get it in hand and it sucks. Then sometimes you lick up an unassuming k ice and it blows you away.
For me the peanut, Barlow and delica (modern) really threw a wrench in my knife collecting. By and large the two small traditionals and the little modern folder takes care of nearly 99% of my non kitchen knife needs. They fit perfectly in my hand and pocket and deploy in such a way that makes me happy. Most folks I think eventually end up with a couple of indispensables.
Last there is no shame in your process to rebuy something g you foolishly sold or traded just to get something different. For me that was the UKPK and Delica k knives by Spyderco. I sold or gave them away and a few months later realized how dumb of me to do that and reacquired them. All was right in the world afterwards.
The peanut and Barlow or another thing. When I got those two knives in hand I knew instantly that they were permanent keepers.
Not an entry, just thought I'd drop in an say good on you! The generosity and general good-natured ness of this forum makes it a pleasure to be in. Good luck to all who entered!
Thanks for the generous giveaway and congrats to the winners, JACK BLACK # 1, MEAKO # 2, MIKE BERKOVITCH #3, WA MARTIN #4. Looking forward to seeing what you guys got.
Wow !! thanks Brett its fantastic, I love the bone and the knife. It is Robeson made by Queen tribute to Robeson pocketeze line that got its name from its sunken joints. AFAIK Queen made them between 1990 to 2000, maybe they still. Anyway great GAW knife and many thanks once again.
Mike
Awesome knives. They both look great. I keep checking back to see if any more pictures are posted. Thanks for the great giveaway and congratulations to the winners.
So these knives are heading across the world. Australia, England, Israel, and only one staying in the states. Still waiting to hear from the other two winners.
