4 Max Scout

Yep, she big and thick. Pocket clip is retensioned, edge is stupid sharp (although a bit of a chisel grind, I'll fix it later). This is going to be a fun knife to whip out and cut a sandwich with!
 
Carried it today, and you really don't notice it. I figured being so large it would feel intrusive in my pocket. Cumbersome. Not at all. I dig it!
 
Well, this thread pushed me over the edge. Just hit the buy button. I’m predicting a nice landing.:)
Been interested ever since I heard they were going with AUS10. More suitable for this type of knife IMHO.
Have the Italian version already, but my experiences with “super steels“ on working knives have been less than stellar. Chippy. Not just on my 4MAX, but with other companies blades as well. The exception being M4.
I prefer tougher steels on these types of knives and AUS10 should fit the bill nicely.
And the price for this much knife, a big yes.:D

Looking forward to carrying the Scout while landscaping when the machete is overkill. I carry a Manix 2 LW when doing residential home repair or cabinetry work, but i need something with a little more ass when I’m working outside.
Will probably just sell the original MAX.
 
Enablers... this thread and another one got me thinking... then got me looking... then got me interested... then got me putting a WTB ad up... :rolleyes:

I figure I’d better try one out here pretty soon. Plus I need a new beater to treat like crap and then be amazed it held up so well. But still.... enabler :D:p:cool::thumbsup:

(p.s. that AD15 ain’t gonna buy itself.......... :rolleyes:)

Going to try and wait for a used one. If that doesn't work out I'll just buy new. Might go through my collection and see if I can part with anything. Sold my backup zt 0470 to get some funds to get a becker bk2, and thought about selling my backup zt 0801ti, but I don't think I can do that. I like that knife way too much and it's discontinued so...

I do have a lady I used to work around asking if I can do some work for her... Might be a little chunk of extra change there if it's a decent job! Cha-ching!
